Weather stripping for trunk

I’m looking to replace my trunk and door weather stripping. I did search, and couldn’t find anything for this, or pertaining to this specific question.

I’m wondering if the thicker weather stripping from the 1992-1996 or 1997+ Prelude would fit. I got the idea from the famous gen 3 mid-engine 'teg thread. (not sure where the link went for the original build thread), where he replaced the weather stripping in his 'teg with that of (i think…) a 1997+ Prelude.

Not sure if it’s possible to do this, or what kind of result it would yield, so before I go get weather stripping, I’ll ask the g2ic community at large if anyone’s ever done this and what kind of difficulties they ran into.

Edit: found the link.

Fourth picture down, where he’s comparing the weather stripping, that’s the question in mind. =D Thanks in advance!

i believe these are the ones you want

I know how the diagram goes, what I want to know is if I can use the 1997-2001 Prelude molding, as it is thicker and would provide a more adequate seal around the windows and trunk. I’m not sure it would work, but I’ll borrow his picture to show what I’m all about.

“There were some comments about the use of the Prelude door opening trim and it’s wind noise reduction properties. Since I haven’t driven the car yet, and I’ve never ridden in a G3 teg before, I wouldn’t be able to tell you if the wind noise was reduced or not. Here is a comparison shot of the two trim moldings. The extra bubble on the Prelude piece seals against the door, so it should be quieter. I just don’t know how much.”

not realy sure i understand the point of using a thicker seals, if your using a new one there shouldnt be any wind noise coming threw those seals try it out and let us know how it goes!

Currently, with my windows being out of whack or something, the weather stripping doesn’t seal against the door properly. This seemed the easiest/most cost-effective way of fixing it. I’ll pick up some prelude door seals eventually and see if I can modify them to fit. =D
I think the seal should be much better. I know I can always go back to the Integra seal if I have to.
