I was wondering if there was anything i can do to lighten my teg a bit. i have a 91 ls and i noticed that my doors are really heavy. So i ask for help, what can i do to lighten up my car, and what other parts can i reduce weight in.
pull power steering. pull the ac. carpet/insulation/trim pieces. lose the subs(if ya got’em)lose the rear wiper. roll with fix-a-flat. clean youre car. take a ****/go on a diet.buy some sparcos.lose the rear seats…
thats a good start
cheap/free stuff: (some is mild, some is sorta hardcore)
-remove power steering system (adds a hp or two and reduced weight)
-remove pass side view mirror
-remove rear wiper arm and motor
-remove power antenna
-remove sheilds on brakes and exhaust
-remove seats
-remove all the carpeting
-remove the stereo system
-remove a/c system
-scrape the sound deading material off the floor
-remove spare tire, jack and tools
stuff that costs money:
-one piece headlights (plastic is lighter than glass… plus they look cool)
-carbon fiber hood
-lexan windows
-racing seats (don’t forget to remove the stock seatbelts… cause they’re pretty heavy)
…or if you are Marc, do this to your bumper support:

haha, i’ve seen the swiss cheese support before, but not the ecu cover:lol: Hey Ive, have you seen the pics of the jdm bumper support? The jdm one is almost nonexistant its so small! The front end is probably a lot less sturdy with the jdm one though.

Yep, have seen the JDM bumper support Crazy light, but crazy risky for an urban daily driver.

Splash Guard:
Aluminum PS bracket:
never seen that splash guard either. But i did see that ps mount. That thing is nice! I’m probably just gonna ditch the ps altogether though.
anyone know where to get that aluminum p/s bracket and the amount of weight saved by using that piece? thanks all and anyone who helps in advance.
