I get this weird shake or vibration when I brake , it get worse when I have to brake hard , but when I down shift it goes away somewhat . Can anyone tell me what’s going on ? oh yea its a 90 Teg 4dr !
Sounds like your brakes are done. Best have a little look at the front pads and rotors soon. Then look at the rear.
my car shakes alot, too, but its whenever im stopped. Is that normal?:-*

most likely your rotors are warped. You can measure this, or just pull them off, and have a shop turn them. If there isn’t enough material left you may need new rotors.
mis_92… you mean like shaking at idle? steering wheel and dash shaking perhaps? if thats what you’re talking about, then its probably your motor mounts. Check to see if they’re in good condition or not.
yes my steering wheel and dash shake quite a bit.

since thats the case you should check the motor mounts. that is most likely the culprit.
I’ve already replaced my rotors , but not the pads . I.m thinking its the strut for some reason . Thanks for the input !
If you replaced the rotors, but not the pads the rotors are going to warp again from the old pads. You’ve probably warped your new rotors. Try replacing the pads next time.

ChrisP - to answer your question it’ll run you around 300 and more to replace the mounts, that’s just hte price of the mounts itself not including labor, but yes they run very expensive from acura, and the most expensive are the probably the rear and i think the front
miss_92_integra - yes you have the same problem as ChrisP and if u have a manual it’s most likely your rear moutn went out first, if auto the front mount
Got an alignment lately? sometimes it could be that…also it can be that your wheels r not balanced…take it to a shop and have it checked.

When I first bought my 91 teg, my car was doing the same thing. I took it to the shop and put on new rotars… that fixed the problem… but to keep if from coming back again, when you are at a stop sign or a red light, try not to step on the brakes that hard or even at all, because when you use your brakes to slow down, the rotars become hot and when you are stopped, they cool down. If there is pressure applied to the rotars when they are cooling, it can warp them.
