ok weird but give me a clue if it sounds like something familiar.
i installed a new stereo, old one had shitty wiring and was a piece of junk
while i had no stereo connected, i reached in my car one night to hit the cabin light(by the rear view mirror) to look for something, they did not work, i put my key in and hit the switch, my DOOR light on my dash was coming on and off with the switch, as well as my light for the rear defroster. i thought maybe they share a common ground with the stereo.
replaced the stereo and did the wiring correctly with solder/shrink. also installed a chassis ground for the stereo as recommended by JVC, for static i suppose.
put the stereo in, and i get power on my power switch in the corner, but no display. also on the opposing corner, i get a pulsing eject button light, as WELL as my DASH CLOCK. i cut the wire i connected for the power antenna, and it got rid of the pulsing on the eject button.
ALSO now am missing just my corner lights, daytime running lights. working perfectly fine before. but ive still got instrument lights and tail lights.
checked all fuses that i could think of.
bump? i checked after cutting my power antenna wire and still have the blinking. dont kno what i could have done, theres only three wires aside from speaker wires so if the ground i hooked up does not work then i am stuck
sounds like the illumination wire from the car harness is hooked up incorrectly. Went to ground and popped the illumination fuse in the fuse box.
well i can also say that i did leave my ground strap for my battery terminal loose, the one that mounts to the trans bracket, i saw a spark on a crank so i tightened it up but i DO remember having power to my old stereo tho before i pulled it out but AFTER i left that ground loose. i just dont know where to look. i believe ive got a bad relay because of the weird problems im having, but what RELAY shares power/ground for the stereo
andthe illumination wire i did not touch, nor wire. so i dont know if that would have any thing to do with it
ALSO my clock resets every time i turn on the key
ALL THE INSANITY for a fuse that i 100% looked at, but must have looked at it too fast and not noticed it was bad, so i rechecked everything to make sure i wasnt crazy and sure enough, cooling fan fuse i think (15A) caused all that. only thing i have not checked was my corner lights after replacing the fuse
