Went to the Track

Went last night with my stock B18A. First time at the track.

Castrol Raceway
Elevation: 2200’ above sea level

I was launching at about 3000rpm.

R/T … 1.303
60’ … 2.600
330’ … 7.615
1/8 … 11.777
MPH … 59.51
1000’ … 15.328
1/4 … 18.373
MPH … 75.00

R/T … 0.787
60’ … 2.644
330’ … 7.843
1/8 … 12.105
MPH … 57.74
1000’ … 15.753
1/4 … 18.860
MPH … 71.93

I got two more. I’ll post later.

The first was my faster time, but slowest mph.

I need some insight on this. What should a stock B18 (with 345000km) (only ‘mod’ being a test pipe) be running? I went last night again, and my best was a 17.742. I know driving skill may be a factor, but I even let a buddy try it (he runs a low 14’s civic). And he cant even do better. The only consolation, was a B20 swapped Integra, that I ran against, and we were only .0200 apart.

All runs, I’m launching at 3-4k. No/very little spinning. Shifting about 6.5k. In third I run it right to red, cause that usually when I’m through the last trap.

Out of 10 runs, these are my best:

R/T ----- 0.263
60’ ----- 2.824
330’ ---- 7.690
1/8 ----- 11.621
MPH ---- 62.70
1000’ — 14.973
1/4 ----- 17.742
MPH ---- 81.53

R/T ----- 0.624
60’ ----- 2.831
330’ ---- 7.806
1/8 ----- 11.754
MPH ---- 62.56
1000’ — 15.1003
1/4 ----- 17.877
MPH ---- 82.61

R/T ----- 0.521
60’ ----- 2.816
330’ ---- 7.761
1/8 ----- 11.772
MPH ---- 61.78
1000’ — 15.166
1/4 ----- 17.961
MPH ---- 80.76

That seems pretty slow for a stock teg. Mine ran a stock 16.1 @87 mph
I would do a leak down and a compression test to see what condition the motor is in

You need to launch better. A 2.6 60’ time is awful. Even with decent tires and a stock integra you should be able to get 3 tenths off that. You should be around a low 16 for a stock teg.

I know what it should be doing, but I cant get it to get there.

It’s not just me, I’ve had two people try it down the strip a couple times (both tune/build engines, and have much drag strip experience). They cannot get it to go better.

With altitude factored in, a low 16 at sea level would produce mid/high 16 here, which I’m still almost a full second off of.

do a compression check on the motor. It may not be running right. You still need to take a serious look at your 60’ time. What tires and pressure are you running?

This car is dead now. No more tracking for me in a G2. BMW from now on.

The tires were at 28psi. They were regular Goodyears, and were worn. I wasn’t gonna replace them, since winter is only a couple months away.

lower psi to 25 to start

i loved my f1-d3’s at 18psi

work on the 60fts its killing u

2.3 2.2 is doable in streetires

What happened?

damn bro those are some rough times! my LS with just a intake and 7lb flywheel ran 15.2 all day, and the motor had over 200,xxx miles on it.

Hit a manhole. Bent frame, cracked rad, and fucked the suspension.

That sucks
