What do you guys think on the quality of pioneer audio? I am thinking of getting a head unit and speakers from them. I no longer am going to get sony equipment for my car, heard it and it suck! so what about pioneer?

Pioneer’s head units are some of the best out there for value, ease of use, and looks. I would reccomend a DEH-4400 or above because everything below that pretty much sucks. There speakers are okay, but a lot better can be had for the same price. Check out www.sounddomain.com and search the speakers. They have a vehicle fitment guide as well, so it’s really easy to use.
I got a pinoeer DEH9300 and will never get rid of it. It has every thing I wanted and more including high pass crossovers for the front and rear speakers. The main thing that attracted it to me was the 13 band EQ. The reason I loved this was cause I didnt have to by and external EQ and custom mount it. You can get it at a good price at etronics.com for about $330.00 as compared to Best Buy who had it for $750.00. Also their components are good to. I had a pair of the 6.5" TS-a1648 2-ways. Their 35W RMS and really good. Only reason I changed them was because I got my hands on some infinity 693.5’s (i think) and there F@&kin crazy. I recommend Pioneer to anyone. There decks anyway. HTH.

I have pioneer 6.5" 3-ways all the way around and a pioneer DEH-P6400 head unit and for the price they’re great! Very good high end sound and mids as well and the ease of use is nice to! I would highly recommend them!

Ditto. I have a 9300 and wouldn’t trade it for any other HU in the world. I love everything about it.
-Nice 9200 jh4db536. That deck is awesome too. I don’t like the looks of the 2002 model HU’s. I like the 2000 + 2001 the best. How about you guys?
I have the older 4100 but I like it better than any others. Sony just doens’t really do it for me. I also have 6 1/2’s in the front and will soon get rid of my infinity’s in the rear and put in pioneer. I also have a pioneer 10in which sounds pretty good for what I payed. I recomend it.
right now i have the pioneer 6.5 inch 2 way blue cone speakers in my car, and they sound great even with the stock head unit. i also have a pioneer deh-p520 head unit that i havent yet installed in my teg. i took it out of my camaro last summer when i sold it. i love the head unit. cant wait to install it in the teg. i highly recomend pioneer.
thanks guys, I’m going to be getting a pioneer head unit, and probibly some speakers, I was wondering does anyone know if a can run a 2 channel amp, only in to one 10 inch sub, would that work? I personally don’t know a bunch about sound systems.

yea, bridge the amp: take the postivie connection from the first channel to negative connection the second channel.
my bad boss…my first post doesnt seem clear when i read it. What i meant is to use the positive terminal of the first channel and connect it to the postive side of your sub and take the negative terminal of your second channel and connect it to the negative side of your sub. HTH.

Send me an email of the products, with product numbers or model number and I’ll get you some prices. I have the pioneer DEH-7200 and love it. I’ve always trusted in pioneer decks. There speakers are okay, but I’ve always loved infinity and cerwin-vega speakers. I have a 4 channel sony amp running all the speakers. Nice set I would say, but the amp needs more power.
The quality from Pioneer compare to Alpine is excellent. I had a Alpine double din 3-disc cd player that thing breaks down alot. So I went ahead sold that thing then got myself a single din Pioneer DEH-P4000 and change all my speakers inside my car Pioneer 6 1/2 3-way in front and Pioneer 6x9 4-way in the rear. Sounded way nice than any other speaker I hear. Polk are pretty good as well. I sold my Pioneer headunit a few months back and now I have a JVC MP3 headunit. Looks pretty nice but since Pioneer put out a MP3 headunit I’m considering in buying that one and selling my JVC MP3 headunit.
