what are the signs of an axle going bad?

I have a 92 integ. Everytime i accelerate, theirs a clicking sound. its on and off. i just hear on 1 gear and 2 gear when i accelerate. does it mean the axle is going bad???

CV Joint, that’s what it sounds like to me. Well, that could be the only thing.
Unless, it’s in the transmission.

sounds like you’re gonna need axles.
