Just curious. Is there an easy way to see if the previous owner of my car has already changed the timing belt ?? (ASSUMING of course, they didn’t replace it with the same exact thing)… the car had 97,000 miles when I first bought it…
http://www.ahmotor.com has stock timing belts for cheaper than the dealer.
the best thing to do is check out your belt closely for any evidence of cracks, etc. i think it should be pretty obvious if it’s new or if it’s been used for almost 100K miles.
most likely the previous owner did not change his timing belt yet. If he did, he probably would have told you. It’s recommended at 90K miles, and most people actually don’t realize that.
