what do i need for a y1 transmission

well i got a y1 for a 100 bucks cuz my friend wrecked his car and my tranny was grinding second gear so i needed one so we made a deal so i was wanting to know if it bolts right up and how to make the speedo work any help would be very appreciated

A y1 is a b series tranny and it should bolt right up. And if its in good shape sounds like you got a really good deal!

yes it does bolt right up and your speedo cable hooks up the same. i have one in my car right now with my stock LS.

If your current Transmission is a 90-91 y1 j1 s1 ect then it will bolt on and everything will work

If your current Transmission is a 92-93 ys1 then it you will need a 90-91 clutch disk everything esle will bolt on

All 90-93 integra VSS is the same

i know but a Y1 isn’t from a 90-93 integra so i was wondering which VSS everyone else used

Use the current VSS that is on your car.

I have a y1 and my vss has no lines for the power steering fluid, those lines are looped or deleted.
If your having trouble hooking up the speedo cable then take out the vss and hook up the cable with the locking clip then drop the vss back in its place on the tranny. the vss I have is a lil shorter so its a tight fit with the speedo cable

So you’re running the VSS from the y1 not the LS? No issues? What have you done with the power steering lines?

yeah I have the original vss from the y1 with no p/s lines, everything else is looped and closed. your lucky you got the y1 for that deal. I just got mine rebuilt with new everything and even new wavetrac lsd since the oem lsd broke. Id like to get another just to have it incase I have to pull my current Y1 setup for work… I still have all the internals, lsd and pinion gear from the rebuild.
