Im doing a b20 swap… either a 99-2000 jdm high compression b20b or a 99-2000 usdm b20z2.
I’ve been shopping around for prices and have been getting numbers all over the place.
I know the 8.8 CR b20b’s go for anywhere between $400 and $800 depending on where you look.
I found a place that claims to have the High Compression JDM b20b for $685.
Then there is the b20z2… I found a few places thanks to junkyarddog.com that have them for $1000 +.
Are these reasonable prices for these engines?
What did everyone pay for their b20 swaps?
should I go for the place that “has” the higher compression motor and risk it being the 8.8 CR motor or spend more and get the b20z?
It depends on what you want. If you just want the longblock then it will be a lot cheaper as opposed to wanting the entire motor swap, meaning Longblock, tranny, wire harness and ECU and even axles. But definetely Hmotorsonline. All they do is quality motor swaps.
i found http://www.enginereplacement.com/htdocs/performance_specials.htm#honda
that site. they have a “B20B Late Model High Compression Long Block” for $685 and it’s within driving distance from where i live.
Should I trust that it’s a Hgh Comp motor? Or should I ask them to take pics of the pistons to make sure that they are PHK pistons?
Anyone ever dealt with them?
Yeah, i knew that.
Im waiting on a loan check then I am definitely jumping on it.
