My 92 GSR shacks at idle. What is causing the shacking at idle?
It’s a vibration that can be felt on the steering wheel.
I have 120,000 miles. Distributor cap and rotor, ignition wires, coil, ignitor have been replaced already. I have not changed out the sparkplugs yet but I am going to install NGK Iridium sparkplugs.
Shaking and vibration? It can be alot of things and so it depends how, when kinda thing.
Have you check to see if its any of the engine mounts being at fault since u are vibrating at idle? Or can it be too low of an idle? its been covered here many time.
I would assume its the engine mounts Since u stated "It’s a vibration that can be felt on the steering wheel. " if during IDLing at a stop or light. if u are moving and things vibrates/shake then your causes are alot of other things now which u would have to tackle down one by one starting with engine mounts carefuly not to overlook on cracks and loose bolts.

I am having the same problem. I just today cleaned out my IACV valve which didnt do allot. My car only does it sometimes at a stop. Then sometimes it will idle about 50-100 RPM’s higher and will be perfect. Anything lower it just shakes allot. Let me know if you fixed it or find anything. I am trying to do research also. There are allot of good tips in the “teg tips” section.

i just got done doing a clutch on mine and luckily i did, the front tranny mount was completly destroyed… my car used to shake like hell and i didnt know why but idled great… check mounts
