What is the closest to OEM bumper replacements?

Hi,

My 1993 is due for some TLC after 19 years. The rear bumper was pushed in on the left corner by a previous owner and I bumped into a car in front of me which cracked the drivers-side of the front bumper. I could patch the front and maybe use a heat gun to fix the rear, but I figured that I could just get a replacement set. I got a quote for OEM replacements from a body guy and it was over a grand for both.

Does anyone make a bumper / ground effects set that would look good. I understand I’ll need a new paint job eventually to make it all good, but something cool, near stock, under-state and not riced-out is what I’m looking for that doesn’t break the bank.

Any ideas?

thx eris

not too sure if the quote they gave you for $1k is painted and everything or not…
aftermarket made OEM style bumper covers are about $160 on ebay but they’re primed only

as far as any ground effects goes its up to you, most aftermarket body kits dont have good fitment and need work to get the paint smooth.
most common thing you’ll see is lip kits used for the front bumper and as far as the rear bumper goes maybe you want to look into mugen rear bumper cover… depends on where the damage is you may actually be able to use your existing bumper and just have the cover on top of it.

Kaminari

Thanks… it looks like Kaminari sells front, rear and side-skirts for $495. that’s a huge discount off of the individual parts. Is Kaminari the best fitment and/or will I still need to do custom work on it (beyond paint)?

Why don’t you just get a bumper from the wrecking yard…?

im guessing cuz everyone one i find is screwed up. i was wondering what my best bet is also, besides the junkyard

Gotcha. Cl, integra forums, stuff like that is also an option

i read OEM replica shit never lines up. 20 year old good plastic is out there.

Keystone PLATINUM Series… They are reconditioned OEM units, that look brand new. Though they aren’t particularly cheap.

Keystone and Certifit have aftermarket auto body parts.

Keystone fits better - more expensive
Certifit fits ok - less expensive.

You can still buy them from dealerships.

Yeah, but for some reason the dealers think they are made out of 24k gold and diamonds. Along with just about every other part. Haha…

Quality fitment usually is worth paying a premium for. I cant count the numerous aftermarket bumpers I’ve seen with awful fitment.
