I need a new motor for my integra. I currently have a B18A1. What motors will bolt in without to much modification? ie exhaust/intake manifolds, computer, distributor, mounts. Is the motor from the 90-91 integras different? I am just looking for a stock application but would like to know what my options are. Thanks in advance
Basically any B-series motor.
Read the swap guide for info.
Any B-Series motor will fit right in, and exhaust will bolt right up. Intake manifolds and things are motor specific and will usually come with your swap if one with papers.
However, and OBD1 (92-95) would be easier. No no need to convert any harnesses over. ie: B18A1, B16A, B18C etc…

so if a swap a 90-91 motor which is OBD 0 i will need a new wiring harness?
you would need a harness from a 90-91…but that would be going backwards! If you stayed with obd1, you would have more options with tuning in the future…
so is there a write up on putting in a B18B or a B20?
He would not need a new wire harness. He can run the obd-0 motor into his car with out a problem. Remember motors are not obd specific per say, just the accessories, injectors, ecu, distributor and some sensors are what make up the On board Diagnostic system. I’ve done a 90 B18A1 into a 00 Integra for a friend since he was on a budget and needed his car back on the road asap. I got the car running with all the OBD-2.5 sensors and ecu without a problem.
Really…I wasnt sure about the distributor. For some reason I thought the bolt alignment was different between the 2. At first that what I thought…the motor is all the same…I know tha injectors and things are different too…
I guess I coulda just went to the garage and compares both my cars. DOH!
Sorry OP he’s right, i made a boo boo!
Typically no matter then engine you’re swapping you’ll more than likely always use your stock engine harness and modify it to work with the engine.
As stated, you’ll need to retain your stock injectors and a distributor that matches your OBD…
