What next??

ok so i ordered my vtec head from a civic si. now what exactly do i have to do for ls/vtec do i know i have to fill one oil hole but where do i drill the other hole. Then what exactly do i have to do with the dowels. I did read the teg tips but i don’t reley get it.

imo you got the wrong head why use single when you can use dual cams. building a ls/vtec is alot more complicated then just pluging a hole and slapping the head on.

Look at these pictures this is a crv/vtec setup, it will give you a idea.

please check your info before posting. as Gibson told you… the new civic si head is a dual cam. The civic si engine is a b16a3 (or b16a2, i always forget), which is basically identical to a jdm b16a (which is what most people mean when they refer to a “b16a”)

Gibson::search: :search: :search: This ls/vtec thing has been gone over and over and over and over again. There is so much info here on this board alone that you could spend hours and days reading it all. So, do yourself a favor and read it. Do a search on www.google.com too and see what other info you can dig up. Oh, and there is even a teg tip on it (don’t let the tip fool you though… it won’t be safe unless you build the engine up to handle higher revs).

ok well here is the thing i have do tons and tons of research i am just reley nervous about this thing i don’t want to be shelling out thousands of dollars and then vtec this thing and it goes down the crapper ya no i just want to be sure because we are dealing with a lot of money here.

i’m sorry guys, its just in Canada the SI is single overhead and the SIR is dual, i just found out that the SI in the US is comparable to a SIR in canada.

please accept my apoligies.
