didn’t “C’s” or something like that used to make a super tall shifter like that one?
IntegraVSR - I have the B&M double bend, it lowerd the shift knob. dunno if I posted the pics in this thread, but it is down a decent amount.

Thanks Strikeback, that’s good to hear, i needed some reassuring since i broke down and bought it the other day (just never thought i would pay $45 for a shifter)
I never really thought about buying a shortshifter until i drove my Brothers 94 Gisser that has the factory dual bend short throw. I also told myself VTEC isn’t worth the money, then i drove his GS-R for a weekend…now i’m almost done with my LS/VTEC build… With that said, I’m beginning to realize how much his car is influencing the dicisions i make with mine. :hmm:
guess I didn’t link the pics here.
stock:
B&M DB. both are in the rearmost position
has anyone tried the cut-it-in-pieces-and-weld-it-back-together trick? I keep reading about that and it sounds reasonable, and I work at a shop with two excellent welders, so I doubt there’d be trouble with anything breaking. Just curious.
ive seen it done on accords it works good…
thats how i did mine almost 3 years ago, and it is holding up great, took 2" out of the top and put it in the bottom. its in the teg tips
White Teggy - any pictures of the WIP or the final?
no i dont have any on in progress, but i will go take a shot of it installed, i also have a second one that i started but never finished i will take a picture of too.
if you do to choose to do it this way, a chopsaw works very well to get the cuts straight, then when i welded it back together i used a MIG welder
Thanks for the pics guys…i received my B&M shifter today and put it on, i also threw my leather MOMO shift nob on…here is a pic.
I took it for a test drive and couldn’t be more satisfied…just need to get used to taking my foot of the gas faster when shifting cause it pulls out the gear so much faster.
I’d recommend the JDM ITR Shift-linkage with shifter. Very nice feel.
the cut and weld trick does work. have done it before myself
I did the DIY short shifter, but I only did the 1" instead of 2." I still await to try it. Haven’t gotten a tranny back in it yet.
i purchased the b&m straight stick shifter. It is awsome if you want a race feel. Absoulutly no free play in the shifter and the shifts are the shotest i have ever seen. But remember when i say that it may sound good but i had to sacrafice comfort for that feel. I dont drive mine daily so it was all good for me. For a daily driver it might be rough
what is the difference between a single and dual-bend shifter?
b&m dual bend
installed mine today along with the ES bushings, i love the feel. the shifts are much shorter now. very comfy
just remember to remove your heatsheild or you will get a weird grinding/scraping feeling when you pull the shifter from left to right.
just ordered a db b&m on ebay 45$ shipped!
What is the part # of the dual bend B&M?
anyone? I did search but only found the number of the straight shifter.
hello?
i just got an ebay one cheap, I never had experience with different shifters, so ill see how i like it, see if it breaks, and if it does then ill get performance, but for now im no pro-racer that needs a 100$ shifter.
