would this bolt on with no mods??? im considering doing this…what exactly would i need?
OK, I know this is an old-ass thread, but I have access to a complete shifter assembly with linkage off of a 98 type R. Can I install the assembly with no other mods? I don’t see a clear answer anywhere on here :uhoh:
yes it will
but u will need a shifter to fit the wider base(stock itr or gen3 or a ss with a correct spacers included)
my friend just gave me a neuspeed shortshifter. we added es bushings and its awesome. the shifts are so quick and the lever is shorter as well.
i got my self them cheap ebay short shifter . i was wondering if it’s gona be good? also what can i get to make it feel much better ?
Those ebay shifters are aluminum, so I would be worried about it breaking. As far as making it feel better, install some Prothane or Es bushings. I hear Prothane is better.
can you show me where to get them at and what it looks like . thanks
cheap isnt always bad
i just installed a megan racing ss
feels nice and solid
where did you get it at?
i have Skunk2, and the weighted knob. i forget how much the knob weighs tho. somehow 440g rings a bell. anyways im very happy with it and the ES bushings i installed.
im not a big fan of the “put the knob really low to the console” look seeign as how we have a really low console to begin with. when you see a really low shifter on a car, its usually because the console comes up farther i think.
my Skunk2 sits petty stock. havent had the OEM one on in ages. both the knob and shifter are stainless, really solidly built, and have a really nice finish on them. i actually put what i thought was a scratch on the knob while taking my dash out, but it rubbed right off.
