Hey, to each their own! Over here on the east coast, drag racing is the popular form of racing… as there really aren’t that many places to go and autocross, at least not in my area… My plan for my teg is to build an LS/V turbo that will hopefully be at least in the 12’s in the 1/4 mile when its all finished, and then on the way home have a fun car for the turns as well! Thats what (i think) makes Hondas so kick-ass! lol.
last night i ran my car and the best i did was 15.6 when vtec hit at 6K it kept spining tires this is what i have
fully bult itr head stage 3 PP
blox stage 3 HSL cams
super tech flat top valves titanium springs/retaners
and b16b pistons
and this is in a 4door
that’s a good time if it was stock.
the db1 is by far the most heavy teg that was made… correct me if im wrong.
i think your car needs a tune or maybe u just need to get used to the car.
i got 16.4, 16.0, 15.9, 15.8, then 15.7 was my best time.
took me half the day to find my grove with my stock ls.

(at the time of) Engine: jdm B18B, Obd0, megan headers, Hks- Hipower, short throw shifter(which broke trying to run a better time lol), Mobile 1 full syn 10w-30, blackworks radiator, michelin pilot exaltos 195/50/15 w/35psi up front. , gutted interior except for sound deadening, buckets

i was on street tires and had no idea what i was doing at the track. im sure i can do way better now… i hvae been practicing haha
im sure u can too. i don’t think ur tires played that big of a roll in u getting a bad time. my bro-in-law has a itr ek hatch and does 14 flat with ok tires. pratice more with feathering the gas when ur tires slip. can’t wait for summer time to take my teg back to the track. i’ll have vids up for the next time that i go.
i ran a best of 13.31 @ 75mph w/ a rt of .588 on the 1000ft… was slipping too in between 1st and 2nd… 91 GS w/ b18c1 type r headers intake spark plug wires 2.5" all the way back, itr basemap and hydro b16 tranny… i thought was pretty good for a N/A teggy with sunroof and full interior… i can post pics of the timeslips later if u guys want…
i need to work on my launching maybe and lets some air out of my tires. 40psi is way too much. its night and day between a b16 swap i had and this b20vtec
That is a really slow 1/4 mile 15 fully built engine. Im glad i didnt dump momey in a b-series!
who?? mines a stock b18c1 with bolt ons if your referring to me, also with broken axles, no traction bar, and a going headgasket… but dont worry itll be much faster soon enough lol
I say high 9’s is possible if the motor has no major issues and considering you can launch okay. My best in the 1/8th mile is a 9.2 in a DB1 with a b18c1 with a ls tranny.

40psi is way too much! woo everyone told me to bring it down to 20psi! lol i only went down to 24psi though. lol.

best i ran with mine was 15.7, all i had was CAI and broken muffler. i felt like the car was only putting out 90% of it’s potential. it had original timing belt that came out of the factory and a leaking headgasket.
i plan to do the headgasket, tbelt, valve adjustment, and possibly machine the head.
