Im at work right now so I can’t go out and get the code off the tranny but is there a way by the color of the tag to tell what tranny I have? I was told I had a gsr tranny. It’s an LS so I don’t know why they would have put a gsr tranny in with the stock b18a. I’m a little weary of it.
What tranny is best mated with a jdm b16a for my 92 2 door?
Stick with a b16 tranny or a ITR tranny, both close gear ratio’s, enables you to be in a slighty higher rpm in every gear, compared to the gsr tranny. But if you want to keep your car a bit torquey, then the b16 or ITR tranny would be great. But any of the three will satisfy you, just keep away from the LS tranny when running a b-series vtec motor.
That’s what I think I got, an LS tranny. So b16 cable or hydro? And how much installed do you think I should be looking at?

So yeah, my reverse went out in my da. Took it to Honda they said there’s either something bent or broken in there. So, I’m in the market for a new one. Most likely going with a B16 since. Will definitly be an upgrade from my ls tranny…yuck. What price should I be looking at installed? I’ve talked to 2 different shops and they are quoting $1200.
