Ive got a set of 15" 5 spoke dc1 wheels for my xsi and im wondering what size tyres should go on them, 195/55 R15 or 195/50 R15, also could you recommend a tyre, i was thinking yokahama A539? oe tyre size is 195/60 R14
195/50 or 205/50. I think xxx/55 would be to tall.
I cannot recommend a tire, as all I have had were Cooper Ziex which didn’t last long, and Toyo Proxes 4 which are all season. If you aren’t looking for all out performance, the Proxes4 were nice tires, put 15k miles on them and they had more than half life left. Ride was decent, traction breakaway predictable, and I drove through 3-4" of snow in them numerous times and they did pretty good. And they were decently sporty, though understeer was still the name on the game when the car reached the limits. I think that has more to do with wheels being driven than anything though.
What the hell is tyre? Its tire, not tyre.
Look around and do some shopping. Also look at where you live and go and pic a tire good for that condition.
Here’s a tire review to look at.http://www.team-integra.net/forum/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=17&TopicID=279332&PagePosition=1

Something new every day:up:lol Never seen it spelled that way before.
195-55-15 or 205-50-15 are the two closest tire sizes to stock. 195-50-15 is tiny and works better on civics than integras.
Here’s how you should pick tires:
- Decide what is important to you. Dry traction? Wet traction? Treadlife? Price? …etc…etc
- Next, find a brand and model of tire which fits your criteria and offers a size which fits your car (check tirerack.com for most of the best tires out there). Most likely there will be 2-4 tires which fit your criteria and you can then narrow down your search between those tires based on the pros and cons of each.
- Purchase the tire you want in the size which fits your car.
Just because something is not offered in 205-50 doesn’t mean it’s not worth getting. When I got my Star Specs they were only available in 195-55. But they were still the best tire on the market in that price range for what I wanted - yes, better than other tires which came in a 205-50.
cheers for the input guys, the reason i suggested yokohama A539 tyres is that i had them on a pervoius car (Peugeot 306 1996, 195/50R15) on that car they were great, but as we all know the integra handles completely different to other cars!
