Whats a good bolt on HID/XENON kit for 1 pieces?

So… Im alittle tired of having headlights that everyone else has, And as of late… On my way to work or back from over time i run into a abnormal amount of fog on the highway… So i want to get a HID kit… Any recommendations?

I know they are illegal, I have that covered

Are you going to be retrofitting projectors in your lights? If not, consider it because a HID kit will not help you visibility if you’re just going to plug it into your headlights. It will most definately make visibilty worst.

Really?, I thought/heard differently.

I seen plenty of bolt on HID kits the only complaint that is most common is that they blind people and are scattered everywhere.

Im not talking about the bulbs, Im talking about the entire kit thing…

Soontobe2ndgen, CasperGSR, MDT115 and BlackDB1 both have HID kits that were bolt on without retrofitting into their 1 pieces… I seen CasperGSR’s(Bryant) and Soontobe2ndgen(Tony) in person and it was much brighter… Havent seen Paolo’s in person yet but he speaks highly of them.

They look bright, but they don’t help visibility unless they are done right. They scatter everywhere like you said. Have you ever tried driving in the fog with your high beams on? It makes the situation worst.

No i havent… which is why i want to give XENONs a try… But close thread… Im going to save up to buy a particulor DB…

 okay…you didn’t get my point.

I bought the TechOne 5000K HID kit from Touge Tuning and when I first put them into my 1 pcs I noticed a HUGE difference between the stock Halogens and the HID kit. Then I put on a glare gaurd like another member on here and the light output is better now, but I would say that there is a big difference and I would say that they help a lot.

Who does retrofits? I just cant pull myself to tear into my one pieces!

haha… no kidding thats why I went with the H4H kit :hi5:

Would love to see pics of your setup aswell

if I can figure out how to post them I would…

Email the pictures to Sales@TougeTuning.com and I can put them up for you no problem.

alright sweet…

So… After no research… I ended up picking up a HID Kit… F1Spec is the brand…

4300K HID’s… We’ll see how it turns out once installed…

I pick the kit up tomorrow as well as rotor’s and pads from our sponsor Prostreet Motorsports.

:squint:

They were supposed to be in today… I got a call from ProStreet while at work saying my merchandise is ready for pick up… Went there… Gave them my ID… Then the guy came back with the rotors and pads i bought… I asked about the HID kit… Then he looked at the reciept… Now im thinking… Mother fuckers better be aware i paid for this kit as they took out a total of $460 out of my bank account… And i know for sure that the rotors were $110 together and the pads were about 50… It was $300 for the HID kit… So anyways…

I hear a voice in a secluded little office “their not here yet”… I find it odd…

I ordered all 4 (total) parts the same day and together, The rotors and pads came from Los Angeles over night… Then the HID kit’s are coming from san francisco which is just across the bayarea about a hour from hayward

I unno… With my short patience and the run around/price of this kit… It better work good…

So… I have a question for those who have a kit… How exactly do you go about installing them?

Is there a write up somewhere?

Installation of HID kits vary depending on brand. TechONE is very simple and shouldnt take you more than 30 minutes if you decide to remove your bumper and hide your ballasts. Essentially what you wanna do is remove your old halogens and install the bulbs first making sure they are seated correctly. Then find a nice place to mount your ballasts and bolt them down. Next step is to connect up all the wiring between the bulbs and ballasts. Lastly take the last set of connections and connect them to your OEM harness and your set.

Just food for thought you coulda saved $60US by going with a TechONE H4H kit :stuck_out_tongue:

sounds simple…

Gracias…

Dude… I think i could of saved that and have got the HID kit faster…

Still did not recieve my kit… I called Prostreet as i was leaving work…

One of the guy’s answered and he said the just got a shipment of assorted stuff that he’ll check for the kit and call me back in 20 minutes…

Ok… I get to Union City from Oakland in rush hour traffic… 45 minutes… And wait 20 minutes at the house in union city… Then i call back with no answer… 2 more times… no answer.

They close at 5PM it is now 4:15PM… So “fuck it”… I go down there and get there about 4:30 or so… The door is locked… but i see 3 white vans unloading stuff into one of the open garage doors… I walk away from the door and towards the open garage while going through the blackberry to call them 1 more time.

Then one of the guys opens the door… And i go in… Up to the counter and he tells me that they are not in yet, they are waiting for the bulbs… the bulbs? i ordered a kit… Didnt catch that one in time… So they’ll call me back tomorrow or friday… If not called friday… Im taking another trip down there for a refund…

It sounds minor… I live in Tracy, Work in Oakland (1.5+ hours in traffic)… Their shop is in hayward… 40+ from oakland… about 2 hours with the rush hour traffic iv been experiencing from hayward to Tracy.

Until today i was driving my dads truck, Slow, no CD player… Ford Ranger wannabe (mazda b3000), Then today i drove my DB with BAD BAD BAD brakes… Because at 5PM TegBoi was to do them (he did)…

I mean they were bad… It was litterally metal to metal… There was NO pad at all left… I could see the shiny silver inside the metal on what used to be pads…

Oh well… Hopefully this kit is worth the wait, money and gas (also money)

:cloud9:

Still no kit…

And i overheard it was a H4 kit… NOT H4H…

So… Im going to try and get a refund… Then hunt down a H4H kit…

Prostreet… freaking sucks…

damn db1 thats bull sh*t!!! it doesnt sound like they take you seriously at all!!! you should get a refund, and go somewhere else where they do take you seriously. you know what i think of pro street…:gunleft: ‘prostreet’
