whats the best oil for a 92 gsr?

my car doesnt wanna start? im guessing to the low amount of oil? anyways i still would like to know what oil is good for my car. thanks

we’ll first of all you shouldnt be driving ur car with low oil… it can cause serious engine damage. oil in an engine is like blood in the human body. oil has nothing to do with you’re car not starting… you can have 0 oil in you’re engine and you’re car will still start… it will mess up the engine but ti will still start. how many miles does you’re engine have?.. stock motor?

idk on my girls prelude there was no oil and it didnt want to start and when we put oil it started right up. so i was just guessin. well the car has around 2 thousand miles on a rebuilt motor but on the chassis there is about 250k. stock b17a1 motor

well that was just luck on her prelude… that has absolutely nothing to do with oil trust me. if u already have 2,000 mile son the motor then what have u been using for those 2000 miles? if its just ur daily driver i would keep it simple and use regular conventional oil castrol gtx… i use that on all the ppls car that i do oil changes in b17a1? wow nice… i hope u know and appreciate what you have. welcome to g2ic… u seem to be new at this car stuff… so any question u have just ask! in my opinion their is no such thing as a stupid question… their are plenty of knowledgeable ppl in this forum that will gladly help… just follow forum rules when you post something and im sure ppl will be glad to help

so lets get to this no start problemmmm gotta keep the first gen gs-r alive

The brand of oil you use is really irrelevant now a days. the oil industry has become pretty standardized vs a decade ago when each brand name had there own secret formulas. What you realy what to consider is things like millage, temperature, and driving conditions to name a few.

grab a quart of oil, any name brand. mobile, Valvoline, QS and get it in there. then you can move on to the real problem. Where is your oil going? On a freshly rebuild motor, you shouldnt have to be adding oil before you even reach your first oil change interval.
