whats the best thing to use to repair a aftermarket bumper

whats the best thing to use to repair a aftermarket bumper…fix the cracks

bondo and sanding?

i try using bondo and sanding but it didnt stay there in a week it cracks again

You cant use bondo. You need to use plastic repair. You can sometimes buy a kit that comes with the reinforcement, and the plastic repair (like bondo).

3M is all I’ve ever used. I’ve found it very easy for sanding and shaping. MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN VENTILATED AREA WITH THIS STUFF. IT STINKS BAD. You will also need a promoter for plastic repair (usually in a spray can). It wont actually adhered to the plastic without it.

If you’ve never used the stuff before, I would recomend http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3MAutomotive/Aftermarket/Products/Product-Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U5230GE3E02LECFTDQCEK3_nid=J6CLNP3ZV2gs6DTWTJQPBBglTB9909M8GXbl. It is ready to sand in about 20min. If it is cracked, re-enforcement is strongly suggested. It’s like a netting, that becomes rigid.

There are many other companies that make kits, but 3M is honestly the best. 3M does offer a kit that comes with everything you need (repair, re-enforcement, promoter).

You can usually get it from a local autobody supplier or shop.

To use it, basically rough up the are like you would with bondo. You need to v-groove the damage (basically sand it so the edges of the crack are at an angle). Mix the repair, and apply a light coat to lightly cover the area. Place the re-enforcement over the repair, and put another coat over it. Let it sit, and your done (except for sanding).
