Whats this Shield!!! Front end! Pictures!

Yeah was messin around yester decided Id
take the front end off real quick,

This shield… what is it…

Ahhhh… Much better,

well I was JW what it was for…

A cheap way to protect the hood latch cable.

u know how if u still have the stock intake, there’s a tube that runs from the airbox to the center of the car? i think that shield just redirects the airflow from the grill to the end of the tube that’s near the hood latch.

Yea I figured it was for that intake…

well I never had the stock intake so
i ripped the shield out.

now all u have to do is stick ur hand into ur bumper grill, reach up and pull the hood cable and VOILA your hoods open!

That shield wasnt preventing that at all.

But im not worried about theft.

I keep a lookout but its not like cali.

My parents leave their keys in the cars and windows down half the time
over night. And have for 11 years.
were in a decent place.

Nowhere is safe anymore. Get some kind of anti-theft goin.

  1. A kill switch, Like feul or ignition, or some other disabling component.
  2. Detachable steering wheel. Make sure you get the hub lock too. Don’t be all retarded & think no one else may have the same NRG hub as you, w/ another wheel attached to it.
  3. Can’t go wrong w/ a full alarm.
  4. A clutch lock bar is great too.
  5. The Boot! LOL!

Mainly, you want layers, so it’s very hard & inconvient to steal your vehicle over one w/ little or no prtection @ all.
Hope this helps you get serious about security. You may live in a good area, but what about when you are out & about?
Be Safe. Be Smart. :getsome: :manual:

Oh I know man. Trust me I know.

Its got a slavege title due to theft…

Im gonna start gettin stuff this summer.
Becuase right now all I have are the factory non power door locks.
I got nothin else,
and for it lookin like this

I get alot of looks, so sometimes I get worried.

I know when I got the rims on I actually cared about it gettin stolen,
even tho I have 6k into her without the wheels.

A kill switch is only like $15.00 w/ all parts. it’s fairly easy too. E-mail me if you want detailed instructions. Click on my user name for the address.

The kill switch is one of the best anti-theft devices you can use. The main advantage is that, hidden well enough; it’s too hard to find for a theif. The time they will need to spend figuring out why your car doesn’t work is too long for them to hang around.

The other methods have ways around them, ones that crooks try to exploit are usually fairly popular, ( like a detach hub, which w/o a lock is useless) but if you can’t make the car start, you’re screwed.

hey its me from nashville in the crappy lookin DA , yeh that thing you took off was to protect the cable from thiefs …
just so you know…

Yeah I know.

I might put it back. We’ll see.

I could just push a mesh painted flat black on the inside of the bumper,
Wouldnt be ricey and would serve its purpose.

I could swear i read somewhere that it was to keep from over cooling in winter. like when you see ppl put cardboard in front of the radiator.

hmm. Interesting.
Being in TN,
We get 100f summers and teens in the winter.
So we get kinda a wide rangle of weather.

damn at 100f id have it off lol

ive had two da’s and never had that cover thing. neither have i ever seen it on another da. weird

not on my 92 ls
on my 91 gs
on my 90 ls

It was part of your stock cold air intake. It made a hi pressure area in front of the intake. But someone has remove all but that one piece.

mine didn’t have that intake thing. i had a something different.
