wheel wobble and chatter.

… .

if you swapped over the knuckle/spindle assembly and the hubs, as opposed to just machining in 5 lug hubs, i wouldnt doubt the axles arent the right size, you might need to look into different length axles.

if you just had 5 lug hubs machined to fit the DA spindles, i have no idea what the issue is.

I still have the 4 lug hubs

i get the same issue while accelerating, but my axles have held up.

bent halfshafts maybe? or they might have stripped splines… check out some posts on that.

I think my issue might be the pulley.

Considering you have put new axles and coilovers, have you gotten an alignment? Being as you didn’t state whether or not you did? Cuz I too get a sort of wheel wobble when accelerating through 2nd gear. And the only thing I have that’s wrong, is a bad passenger side inner tie rod. Those are the culprits to my demise.

no I havent done an alignment yet since im waiting till I get new tires. I really doubt the alignment is the main culprit since but then again its the one thing that would make sence…

I also forgot to mention that I have a stage 5 clutch and was told that my aggresive clutch transfers the torque to the gears, differencial, axles and hub… so could that be it?

if your coilovers are set drastically out of even height all around it could lead to the wobble during acceleration. try measuring the wheel gap all around and see if there is a difference between each side for an easy fix. if not then, i would get that alignment before spending money on anything else.

Like SiRKris said, check the wheel gap, and then check for tie rod play (wiggle the tire forward and back on the sides of the tire. if it’s loose in any way, shape, or form, it’s your tie rods. and I would personally get the alignment ASAP. It’ll buy you time to get new tires. And from personally experience, I havent seen any difference between beat up tires and new tires; meaning I don’t think it’ll throw the alignment off.

ill go ahead and get an alignment done but the wobble and chatter started before i installed the coilovers.

one thing i did notice is that the mechanic replaced some of my motor mounts with some spare mounts he had laying around in his shop so im thinking he could of used 92-93 mounts instead of the 90-91 mounts…
One thing I did notice is that every time i install new axles it goes away, then 2 weeks later you can start feeling the shake lil by lil till it gets worse…

has anyone ever installed the wrong mounts mounts?

same problem

I have 92 LS on coilovers and have been through 4 sets af axles, same problem, they only last a week or two before they start chatering and clicking on hard turns, i was told by it was the ride height of my car throws off the angle of the cv joints and rapidly destroys them

yeah you know what, I just finished deleteing all my p/s hard lines and pump and looped some connections. And I raised my coilovers about 1/4 of an inch in the front only, took it out for a drive and it felt really smooth. I couldnt hear anymore chatter or clicking from the axles, the shakeing durring hard pulls is almost gone to. I can still feel a small vibration on the right but it could be that the axle is already bad… Im going to raise it another 1/4 and see what happens, kinda sucks cuz now i have to ride in stock height in coilovers…

ok so I still have a shakey wheel on the passanger side everytime I smash on the gas from 1-5th.
durring the swap the mechanic replaced the driver side motor mount with one Ive never seen before…
could it be possible that he put the wrong mount from some other car or a 92-93 integra…
what motor mounts do I need for a swap from a LS b18a1 to a b18c vtec motor? the axles dont look straight when fully lowered off the jacks…
