Where Do The Factory Stereo Wires Go To And What Do They Look Like?

could somebody let me kno what wires are which in a 92 gsr stereo wires. bought the car and the harness was cut so i am looking to install the scosche car stereo wiring connector part number HA028. could someone tell me which factory wires are which. meaning what do they look like and the stereo component that they go to. because i am getting tired of driving for hours listening to my loud ass car with no tunes.

or should i take it to a stereo place to get it installed???
its an option but the closest CC or BB is at least an hour and a half away

Are you sure they have been cut or did they cut out an aftermarket harness? for new decks there is generally a piece that plugs into a rectangular piece (white I believe) and then you splice the after market deck off that

if someone did it by hand and didnt care about future owners, it is likely that they cut the acura harness off.

12v constant = blue/white
12v switched = yellow/red
ground = black
illumination = red/black
antenna trigger = yellow/white
speakers
LF (+) = blue/green
LF (-) = Grey/black
RF (+) = red/green
RF (-) = brown/black
LR (+) = blue/yellow
LR (-) = gray/white
RR (+) = red/yellow
RR (-) = brown/White

when i first read “the closest CC or BB”
i though you meant Vigor or Prelude

If the stock radio harness has been cut, you do not need a harness adapter, and it wouldn’t be a HA028, [never heard of that part number] it would be the HA02B… http://www.scosche.com/scosche_caraudio.aspx?CategoryID=78&ItemID=HA02B for a G2.

Just “hard wire” your new HUs harness directly to the cut leads of the stock radio harness… http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf

CAUTION power ant. control lead may be another brown/white, the right rear speaker neg.(-) is definitely a brown/white.
Also, not shown is the red/black, illumination.:whisper: 94

thanx guys. i was in a hurry. and the b looked like an 8 to me. the stock harness was cut. and it had some other wires connected to the existing wires. i took those off so i would just have the stock wires. but needed to kno the stock wires so i could hook up the harness.

what i had to do for my sisters car is buy one of these.

i would never hardwire cause i dont just use tape. i solder and heatshrink

Hard-wiring has nothing to do with if you use tape or not, of if you solder or use some kind of connector.

Hard-wire means connecting one set of wires to another set without the use of plugs or adapter plugs.
Hardwired = permanent.:corn: 94

thats what i was trying to say is that i dont hard wire cause it is “permanent” hence i dont use tape. maybe its the way i worded it

Maybe it is the way your saying it, I still don’t get it.:dunno:

The point is, the OP has a problem, the OEM radio harness, [and obliviously the radio plug] have been cut away.

He needs no wiring adaptor, [unless he is reinstalling a stock HU, as you did with your sisters car] so his best option is to “hard wire” the aftermarket HUs wiring harness, [or the rev. harness you link] to the OEM radio harness, either way it wold be hard wired, and yes, soldering and shrink tubing would be the “best” way, although properly crimped butt connectors will outlast the car and are acceptable.
I don’t understand why you would suggest to the OP not to hard wire, when it is what he is going to have to do.

I also can’t figure or what the tape has to do with it, although I do agree it should not be used as insulation at an electrical connection, I didn’t see it mentioned by anybody.:shrug:94

i used crimp connectors because i didnt have a lot of time and my soldering gun is broken. the factory connectors were cut away. so i bought the scosche harness

Which Scosche harness?

What HU are you installing?

Crimp connections are OK if done properly.:dozing: 94
