My daughter-in-law’s 1990 GS hatchback doesn’t have engine splash guards. Seems to me that it should, with especially the alternator and belts open to road splash. But I can’t find them anywhere, not new or used or pick-and-pull. I don’t mean the fender liners, which are available. I mean numbers 7 and 10 in this diagram:
Ideas? Rockauto sells a kind of plastic from which one could cut out reasonable replacements. Would anyone have a pattern or be willing to trace theirs. Or I don’t need to worry about the splash?
www.acuraautomotiveparts.org (or your local dealer) should have them unless they’ve been discontinued, which is a possibility. I wouldn’t even both with them though, they really aren’t important. Sure, they’re there for some protection from things coming up into the engine bay but I’ve never used them on my car and never had a problem, and never heard of a problem arising from them not being there.
Thanks guys. Yes my local dealer says that they are discontinued. Guess I’ll mostly give-up, but the salty mush that kicks up around here in the winter is nasty corrosive stuff.
If you prefer to have them (as do I) eBay can be a great resource, depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for items 6, 7, 9, or 10 in that pic though, your only option might be a salvage yard.
Be careful with those aftermarket splash shields, many are garbage. I ordered a set from RockAuto for my '04 Impreza and they fit OK but it took some force to get them to work. I also ordered one for my Integra and it was complete junk, I threw it away. Obviously there are different brands, so there are likely some that are fine, just be careful cause you’re definitely taking a risk unless you can see the piece in person before buying.
I ordered a driver side splash guard from a site called partsgeek.com
fitment was good, and it was actually a heavier gauge plastic than the oem. cost me around $20.00 shipped.

Mine got thrashed along time ago from the car being so low. The car removed it. I didn’t. I went to do my oil change one day then I found that piece gone. It went bye bye on the freeway I think.
On the drivers side, one can see the belts and alternator easy and imagine that at full left and full right, the tire is dumping whatever is on the road on the belts, pulleys and alternator. I’d definitely prefer to have them, but chances of finding such fragile 20-year old parts at a salvage yard are slim. What I need is a pattern so that I can cut out my own from this:
