wheres it coming from ?

i have a 90 da9 ls all stock besides basic bolt ons (soon to change)

Every couple weeks or so my thermostat will go almost all the way up before i save it from overheating. Seems that it overheats from a leak which means lack of coolant & “depressurized” cooling system, Fan works, new fail-safe thermostat, new radiator, new rad 1.3 bar cap, 50/50 coolant with redline water wetter, new upper/lower hose, properly bled system, etc.

I can see the coolant under where the upper rad hose connects to the head BUT everytime i reclamp (worm clamps) it and refill coolant a couple weeks later it happens again.

Touched under upper rad hose & no coolant on actual hose.

Wheres it coming from ?

Pressure test the cooling system to find your leak.

u mean no leak from the hose? or anywhere on the motor or any puddle on the ground? if not maybe ur head gasket is blown? i ve heard about it when theres no leak but there leak through gasket into inside, between the block and sleeves

It could be as simply as a air pocket in the cooling system!

i will do a pressure test this weekend i think. and i can see the puddle its right under the upper rad hose, i just dont know where its coming from because there was no fluid on the hose itself, it is a small coolant leak right under where the upper rad hose connects to the head

air pocket ? if i properly bled the system there shouldnt be a problem with air right ?

thanks, i will do this asap

Just an update guys … did a pressure test of cooling system in parking lot of local advanced for free … figured it out it was hose #7 leaking, going from the the head by the uper rad hoseto the thermostat housing … called the breather heater hose or something i think … ordered the part from acura ! Thanks for the help !
