which 6.5's fit??

Ok, from my own personel experience I had to go through 3 pairs of 6.5’s before I found something that would fit with no cutting. I got some CDT’s that fit with a MDF trim ring but there more of a rear fill speaker so I wanted to move them to the back and get some new 6.5’s up front. I’m really only looking for higher end speakers. So if you got some nice speakers that your happy with that fit with NO modification to the doors let me know what you are running.

i got some nice pioneers… they fit right in with only having to drill the 3 hole pattern into them

forgot to add, model numbers and RMS wattage would be great also.

what kind of mods are you talking about? I had to cut the back half of the basket out for mine, it was easy though took only 8 minutes. Infinity kappa 63.5i, 3 way 225 watts peak

Out of the 3 sets of 6.5’s I bought 2 of them would not fit in the hole in the door with the basket removed. I would to had to of cut the door for them to fit. My third set I bought fit in the hole in the door but not the basket so I had to make trim rings for them to mount properly.

I’ve had relatively good luck with Infinity’s line. Whatever you do, DON’T buy Boston’s unless you feel like cutting (unless they’ve gotten a LOT better over the past few years).

any of the Polk audio speakers fit the front doors

I was looking at getting some of these speakers. How do you like them?? How do they sound?? So they fit in the stock plastic baskets if you cut the backs of the basket off them?? If so I definitely think I am going to get some of these speakers. I’m looking for a good speaker that will fit in the stock baskets still.

Yea, I like them, They are very loud and very clear, there is a little bass, enough to make my door mirrors vibrate, but I also have a small amp powering them. They also play very clear when I turn my stereo all the way up. All you have to do is cut the baskets (the back half off) very easy. I got mine new on e-bay for $95 shipped, I have seen them in catalogs for over $200 +shipping.
