I was looking for a “bolt on” intake manifold. I like the venom which I can get brand new for $389.88 shipped (plus another $100 for thier fuel rail), or the BBK-ssi which I like even more and is $279 and has a 70mm tb opening. I am just trying to get a few ideas on what I should do next.

depends on what motor you have, where you want your powerband to be at. There are plenty of manifolds for instance others then you named, aebs, skunk2,elderbrok, itr (motified), obx, or port and polish the one you own, by the way my spelling sucks on the brand names :bang: :bang: .
has anyone had an OBX Intake manifold? I just bought one, but i dont know if they are good, I know OBX turbo manifolds are fucking crap, but was wondering if their Intake MAni’s are reliable.
I have a stock pnp one with a 70mm t/b havnt drove my car yet as I just put it on and the timing is getting done right now… started the car tho and the thing SCREAMED!
oh and the intake mani/ throttle body is from www.dh-racing.com and they guarantee 20whp.
ill let ya know how I like the performance… but keep in mind i wont know how the performance of that was because i went big
im going from a stock 15.6 1/4 mile car and just had all these upgrades done
milled .020 head
crower 403’s
crower dual valve springs
aem cam gears
pnp intake mani/ 70mm t/b
matrix sri (CAI suck! for living where it rains haha)
tsudo 4-2-1 header
brand new retainers
so my performance is going to be a huge gain!
oh and if you get a 70mm you know you are going to need an airflow/fuel tuner… SAFC or something similar… because going from 52mm to 70mm is a big difference and your air flow is going to be changed a lot. so it will run funny if not programed.
Keep me informed on how it is.
I also have intake, and full exhaust. Instead of having cams I have n2o, You will probably notice a huge gain in power, but I would only be getting an intake manifold, so I dont know how much power it will be…
Has anyone ever heard of needing a safc for a 70mm tb & intake manifold? I didnt know I needed one.
Actually with a skunk2 type manifold, you are going to lose low end power, and gain power up top, which is kind of useless on a stock LS because of our redline and cams that die off at around 6,500 rpm. unless you have a higher redline, and cams making power up top, this mod is really unecessary and useless as well.
