Pirelli P7000 ??
or
Kumho ECSTA Supra 712??
the reason Im asking is because the Pirelli P7000 are $51 each and Kumho are $52 each.

i’d highly recommend not getting 195-50-15’s. Those tires will be pretty small. I’d pick between 195-55-15’s and 205-50-15’s.
195-55-15’s will be slightly larger than the stock 195-60-14’s, while the 205-50-15’s will be slightly smaller. 195-50-15’s will be a good deal smaller than the stock tires—personally I think too much smaller.
I have 195-55-15’s and I love them. the car sits a little higher but not too much. Personally I think being a bit higher is better than being lower—i mean typically your car is already lowered, so ground clearance is most likely an issue. If you buy tires that make your car ride even lower then you’ll have even more ground clearance issues.
i don’t really have any input on which brand of tires though. I’ve heard really good things about pirelli, but i’m not sure which model. I’ve also heard good things about kuhmo, but i have heard that some of their tires are a pretty hard compound—which personally I wouldn’t like. I have some bridgestone potenza re730’s and i love them, but they are a bit more expensive i think.
i have pirelli p7000s… they are really great tires… i neglected to check the tread wear on them (i knew it was fairly low) and later found it is 160… which is about 10k miles… but i have no complaints what-so-ever… i have 195/60/14s on my gs-r rims… i dont know about the other tires. but i was asking the same question you are now and the pirellis were the most recommended particularly the p7000s and the former mrfatbooty recommended the p7000s and owned the p8000 vizollas and said those were very good too… well anyway, the p7000s come highly recommended here
narundomestics: thanks !!! I’ll go for the Pirelli 7000 then.
91IntegGS: My teg isn’t lowered, so do you think 195/50/R15 would look ok? I used to have the 14’s but I got 15’s a few months ago with used 205/55/R15 tires an the car was too high I thought. that’s why I waswondering if the 195/50/R15 can look nice on a non lowered teg like mine

that is a long ass sentance
I had the 711’s in 15" on my old rx7 205/50/15 is the best size. It actually looked a little small on that, but it stuck to the road. Dont go as small as 195/50 on that though

yeah, i would definitely NOT get the 195-50’s, those are definitely too small. They will lower your car (which in this case would be a bad thing), they will increase the wheel well gap, and personally i think that tires that look too small look like crap. Too small of tires really stand out if the car isn’t lowered. My friend has a 97 lude and the previous owner put low profile tires on the stock rims. Now he scrapes over all kinds of stuff (he hasn’t lowered it yet), the wheel well gap is huge, and i think the skinny tires look goofy.
i really love my 195-55-15’s. They are a little bigger than stock, but not much at all. I didn’t have a choice on tire size (i got my tires for free from my uncle who just had them laying around). I’m still debating whether i’ll get 195-55’s or 205-50’s next time. I’m still worried that the 205-50’s may be a little small for my preference (plus, i’m lowered 3" so the extra ground clearance gained by the 195-55’s might be the swaying argument).
Get some Falken ziex’s I had em… wish I still did.
IMO go with the Kumhos u get a higher treadwear, longer lasting tire for a buck more… well it also depends on how drive. i;m rolling on 205/50 Falken Azenis… and i LLOVE THEM… grip really well in the dry, the stiff a$$ sidewalls make lane changing quick but the bumps suck a$$
I’m down with Kuhmos. It was my #1 choice, but the shop ran out. Ended up with some Falkens. Go with Kuhmos-it’s a good value.
Can anyone give a lengthy review on Nitto 555R’s. Stickiness/in the rain/tread life, turning, etc…how much are they in 14"?
you can find reviews and all that bs if you just go to a search engine like www.dogpile.com and type in ie “Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 review” also tirerack.com has rating systems on their tires. you will probley get more reliable information doing this
Hi

195/50 will definately make your stock height car look higher! i have 195/50/15 gsrs on my car, i used to have the stock 195/55/15 tires… made the car look lower. After putting on the 195/50’s the car had more wheel gap, but was overall lower to the ground. Do a search with my screen name, i posted a lot of pics.
