Does anyone know a good rod race bearing like ACL for the b17? Reason I ask because a few vendors are telling me that the ACL both race and standard rod bearings are on International back order. So I am looking for the next best thing and do not want to use advance auto or autozone. Thanks
I am in the same position as you and I have just decided to go with oem honda bearings. Everyone I have asked has said to go with either ACL or oem bearings only.
ok cool same thing i was thinking. Did ya get a price on them yet? Ill have to wait till tomorrow to call.
update. Just called acura and they told me 22.98 per bearing. WTF!!! $183
Buy Oem, or King, or ACL or Calico. They’re all the same bearing. But Calico and ACL both use their own coating to increase the durability/longevity of them.
My builder recommends Calico, as he likes their custom teflon coating. They’ve held together in the two motors that he’s built for me… One of them being a B16 that revs to 9,500RPM. If a bearing can handle that, I’m a fan. Calico all the way!!
I went to this website and printed out their pricing since it is an Acura dealership.

Then i went to my local dealership and had them price match the website. So now instead of paying for the shipping, I pay for local taxes but I got them next day.
BTW- they are $9.57 each on the website.

you need to figure out which color bearings you need. If you have a helms manual it will tell you how to figure out which code you need. After you have them you need to plastigage them to make sure that they are still within the service limit.
Damn I didn’t know you could do that. I was tempted to try that the other day for valve stem seals at my Honda dealership, but I wasn’t 100% sure I could keep from yelling at them for being jerks. The “List Price” that is shown on all the Honda/Acura OEM parts dealers is $1.55 but the actual price online is $1.05. My local Honda dealership sells them for $2.58! Sure, It’s only like $20 more for all of them, but that is like 75% OVER LIST PRICE!
I ended up driving an hour to a Honda dealership that sold them for list. I can be so stubborn when I think a business is trying to rip me off.
To get the price match i had to go to an acura dealership about 30 min away from me. The one only about 5 min away from me said that they would not honor the prices.
dam, well there is only one near me as I am in Tallahassee, Fl. DDDDDAAAMMMNNN ill see on my next day off.
