***Which strut bar for ABS teg?***

this may have been answered somewhere, but can’t find it…

i notice everyone saying that the neuspeed front strut bars are good, but don’t fit on tegs with ABS. Which bars fit?

if this was answered in a different post, can someone send me in that direction?

thanks

tony

I’ve heard the OBX is the best buy for a G2 ABS Teg. Do a search and find some of Dan’s comments on the OBX. He has one and said they are very good.

It kind of sucks having an integra with ABS because when you do find the strut bar, it cost more than the ones without ABS. Trust me, I know, I drive one WITH ABS and I just gave up on finding a strut because it costed too much and I dont feel as if it is worth the money.

If you do purchase one, tell me if it does make a difference when you put it on!

spoon

Trust/Greddy and Spoon makes em. Also OBX and Tawainese ones work as well

Yeah, I wouldn’t get anything over $60, it is just a strut bar. IMHO, it’s not worth it to drop like $175 on a Spoon bar.

Spoon Bars are great, but I would NEVER drop $150 on a strut bar…especially if there were other go fast parts I could be saving up for. The effects of a front upper strut bar are minimal. You will notice, but not a ton. I guess a good analogy would be buying a $300 air intake that does not have any proven gains over the AEM intake but it was made by Mugen. It’s not going to give you any more power…but I bet you there are people out there that will pay for it.

Those who call the OBX-R bar cheap are incorrect. Inexpensive…yes. But it’s a pretty stout bar. And less than half of the cost of the Spoon bar. But if you still feel you MUST have the Spoon bar…it’s a great bar. But it’s kinda like dropping $90 on the ground and not thinking twice about it  .

thanks for the good input guys… yeah i would never drop 160 bucks for a bar. where’s the best deal on the OBX-R one? thanks

tony

Do a search on the net. I only paid $40 for mine, but my friend that owns a shop gave me that “one time” price. On average, they cost about $60. If you can’t find one, I can probably pick you up one for $60 plus shipping. Let me know.

hey dan (g2guru)…

where in Portland do you live, and where’s your friend’s shop? I grew up down there, and my parents still live there, so i’m headin’ down for Christmas for a little bit while i’m on break… maybe i can just pick it up save the hassle of shipping, etc…

thanks man

tony

I live about 15 minutes south of Portland near Tualatin about 8 miles off of I-5.

Contact Paul at Ground Zero Motorsports in Portland (503)255-6485. Contact them early. If he doesn’t have it in stock, he’ll have to order it. Best of luck.

dan: thanks for the help bro. yeah i live out west past Beaverton (in rock creek) if you know where that is… i went to Jesuit HS back in the day…

when you guys say OBX-R… is that the “round” one… looks like they are all sold out at massivemotorsports.com

tony

I have a Pilot Motorsports bar. It is nearly identical to the OBX-R bar. IT was $45 shipped from JCWhitney.com but the sale has finished. It’s roughly $55 now. I’d check it out.

i have a non-abs bar on my car … moved some stuff around… basic hand tools…took me 1/2 hr… looks great… feels better

thanks for the help/tips guys…l appreciate it.

i’ll probably look into gettin’ the OBX-R or the Pilot…

I put a Tenzo-R bar on my GSR.

how much did that run ya?

Probably too much like around $100.00 dollars. You have to take off the bracket that holds the electric connections to the ABS unit. It is a pretty stiff bar…:ok:
