which throttle body gasket

i need a throttle body gasket for my ls-vtec. i have a jg edelbrock throttle body without dashpot and skunk2 intake manifold on a 96 gsr head. should i get a gasket for a 96 gsr? or will any b series throttle body gasket work?

Is the Skunk2 intake manifold made for your GSR head? I’m assuming it is, so a 96 GSR throttle body gasket is what should work. If you can get pictures up of the intake manifold mouth and the I/M side of your throttle body I can help you further.

Sorry about the delay. Ok, you’ll want to get the 96 GSR throttle body gasket, which is part #4 in this diagram http://acuraautomotiveparts.org/acura/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=INTEGRA&catcgry2=1996&catcgry3=3DR+GS-R&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=THROTTLE+BODY+(4)&ListAll=All&vinsrch=no&systemcomp=List%20All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal

You will have to enlarge the opening of the gasket with a razor blade or a dremel tool, until it is the same size as the bore of the throttle body. Hopefully that helps. Another good website is acuraoemparts.com, because that website above won’t ship on orders under $50 dollars. Or any Acura dealer of course.

thanks for the help. i took off the throttle body to clean it up as well as the inside of the intake manifold. now my idle is all crazy, bouncing from 1k to 1.5k. i thought it could be the old gasket so i replaced it, but the problem is still there. ive read the threads about cleaning the iacv, which will be my next move but my idle was perfectly fine before i messed with the tb. any idea as to what caused the iacv to suddenly start acting up?

Shit, I hate that damn idle bouncing problem, my car has had it for the longest time, but I think I just fixed it for the most part (except when it’s warming up) by changing my thermostat. My only guess is the shitty one the shop put in didn’t let the trapped air through the system so I couldn’t bleed it properly.

The reason I say that is – did you disconnect any coolant lines when you took the throttle body off? And if you did, did you bleed the coolant system? If air is introduced and not bled out, it can cause the IACV to read incorrectly, at least from what I’ve read on it. That is my only guess as to why it would just act up like that, I can’t tell you for sure though. I hate the idle control system on these cars
