Which Timing Belt for ls/vtec

I am getting ready to drop my b18c1 head on my stock LS block and was told that I could just stay with the stock LS belt as long as I stay with stock LS Water Pump and Cam gears. My question is could I also use the GSR belt with the GSR water pump and leave the gsr cam gears on or would I also have to change the crank gear because if so I will go stock everything! I was just figuring using the gsr belt and water pump would be better because they are made for higher rpm. Any suggestions would be great thanks!!!

As long as the water pump and belt are matched use what you want. And yes the vtec parts are designed for the higher rpm. This is important for the water pump speed if you are going to rev like a vtec. Although I have not heard of problems with the ls pump.
