White smoke at start up

It is a 90 LS auto with 250,xxx and every now and then the car will blow white smoke out of the exhaust after it has been warmed up. Not in excess but noticeable. Wont smoke driving down the road just as i start it up. Like today i get out of class and car wouldn’t start and then pressed on the gas a little and it started up but smoked for maybe 20-30 seconds and then goes away. I have done a compression test, wet compression test and a leak down test with results being bad rings but this wouldn’t cause the white smoke right?
Anyone know maybe what it is?

highly doubt rings are bad it sounds like bad head gasket. which will also cause a decrease in compression readings. bad head gasket will cause coolant to seep into the cylinders as they cool, causing hard start and white smoke. as coolant burns white.

headgasket.

does it bog too.

go with a head gasket i had a 89 nova and ever time it was started it made a mushroom cloud of white smoke.

here do this have some jump in the car and you hold your hand on a radiator hose and have your friend start it and see how long it takes to build pressure if it dose not take long to push you hand off or build pressure go with a head gasket

sorry to here bro

thanks for the input guys i’ll be considering a head gasket soon.

this just happened recently on my car. Its a 90LS Auto, no modification, just stock. i have recently got my head gasket changed (like 2-3 months ago). everything was working fine, but last week, all of a sudden, its having a hard time starting when its all warmed up. When the engine is really cold, such as early in the morning, then it starts pretty good. but after driving it, turn off the engine, then start it again, it will have a hard time starting and white smoke will come out. with the white smoke, it’ll come out for like 15-20 seconds, and then it dis-appear, do you think its the same thing? it was a bitch procedure on taking down the head and puting everything back up, i really don’t want to do it again, but i just wanted to make sure that it is the one that causes it. can you please help, any inputs is appreaciated.

thank you so much
