Who's running Solo2 this season?

Just checking to see who’s running Solo2 this season, what class, and how competitive you plan on being.

Hey I’m Scott, I’m from WA and I race in the Northwest Region of the SCCA. I have a 1991 GS that’s somewhat competitive locally. I’ve run the Seattle NT two years in a row now, and hope to trophy this year. Last season I got 5th place, and hope to get 2nd this season. Maybe 1st if the suspension works well. I’ll be driving the 1991 GS, or a friend of mine’s 1991 LS. He’s on the boards here, maybe he’ll chime in. Hopefully by the middle of the season, I’ll buy shortened Konis and Ground Controls, maybe even the SPSS3 versions.

I’ll probably run STS a few times in your car or Justins;) The tour would also be fun.

Running SM in the GSR locally. The car is basically an STS car(not a very good one), but I get bumped to SM because I pulled the ABS out of the car.

This will be my 9th year. Not sure what Ill be racing just yet. I still have access to the hatch, but the teg was a lot of fun the one race I took it to last year. Im hoping the wagon will be done in time for the season. Ill be in SM no matter what car I drive. Will I be competitive? Not really. The cars I race are pretty badass. One of the cars I race against was in Sport Compacts Street Car Challange. The balck Supra with all the silver stickers. It took him 3 years to catch up with me and now hes dialed in. The other car I have to race is this one: TT BMW. With two drivers that regularly beat me. Took them a few years too, but they got it down and now I have a hard time even staying close to either car.

Nino - You can run in STS if you put a non-ABS master cylinder back in, then change it to an LS.

Roldan - I got my GC mounts installed Sunday, it rides pretty smooth now. It feels like it’s going to oversteer more controlled now.

I’ll be running STS this year. I was running the Street Tire class last year under SM. Pulled the cams out this year and will bump down to STS and just dialed in the suspension. This will be on the Nissan NX2000. I’m going to try and get the integra done before the end of the season just to get a few runs in. That will be in SM.

Season starts on the 18th/19th here.

Shea, you’re not running the sedan anymore? Weren’t you owning that class a few years ago?

Scott,
I can’t do that with the GSR. It has a different motor.

Haha, I didn’t see that you said it was a GSR.

Roldan, last season was the first year Ive raced the sedan in a few years. The forced hatch is much more competitive. The sedan held its own though with the gsr swap, I was pleasently suprised. Im hoping the wagon with the same motor setup and AWD will do a little better. A B20 and a spooler for next season if the CRV tranny holds up to the task this year.

SM has grown a lot since I started racing that class. Very hard to compete, but still fun none the less. Im still right there with 2 less cylinders and one less turbo, still making guys scratch their heads though, so its all good;) Im generally the fastest fwd in the region, with my lady being the 2nd/3rd. Usually a toss up between her and my co-driver for 2nd/3rd.

Heres a list of top times for the region twords the end of last year the race I took the teggy out of retirement. Note my boss at # 9 slower than the GF

Scott - I thought those mounts were on your car 2 weeks ago? Anyway, I’m excited to get some drving in Saturday.

Shea - That wagon sounds awesome. I’m also trying to get an EF to work. Hopefully my hatch will run soon, no turbos or crazy stuff though. You wouldn’t happen to have a '90 Teg ECU would you?

I had the fronts in, but I put the rears in along with the black polyurethane spring locators (front and rear). No travel in back was causing snap-oversteer.

Any specific one? Ill have a 90 w/no rev limiter as soon as I convert my car to obd1, but other than that all I have is the ecu originally from my car (AT). I can ask one of the other techs. He has a stack of ecus.

Im running STS this year. First official year for me although I got one race in last year. I got my lightweight wheels today and waiting on the azenis. Hopefully will be here Friday. I missed the first event but #2 is Sunday. I doubt I’ll be competitive. Right now Im just learning as much as a I can

I have the itch sooo bad, but it seems there are no events close to me (and the pne which is coming up in a few weeks, I have to be at summit point crewing for my bro).

Does anyone have a list of the schedule close to MD (within a 50 or so mile radious of 20874)?? Please, I need to get atleast 3 or so in before May.

Shea - will the auto ECU run a manual car? I just need something to run the B18a in my '89 Civic. Thanks for checking.

Ya it will run the car fine, but it will throw a “wheres the tranny?” code.

What is a 66 Austro?

^^^One of the many open wheel creations powered by oldschool Ford motors. Very light and very fast.

i will try to get out and do some solo events here in detroit if i can get a motor in the teg :cross:

Running my third full season in STS. Took third in point on year one and first in '05. The only reason was my co-driver had some personal issues he couldn’t make it to all the events I did. Ended up with a 12 point difference but he had me at all events when he was there.
This year I added a hedder and lost some more weight.
Season starts on March 19.
