I was just wondering why the later DA’s have 10 more hp than the earlier ones. is it something major, or is it just something like different manifolds? Any feedback is much appreciated.

i’m confused as to why any posts have been made after max’s post. First off neither of you gave a solid answer, and second neither of you even bothered to search for your own benefit. Your two posts just make things more confusing and add to bandwidth.

I don’t really think I need tom search, I didn’t ask a question. I tried to answer it, if I do remember the intake manifold, header are more restrictive, and the cams aren’t as agressive. I thought that after someone telling him to search I thought I knew the answer. it’s just easier to tell him than to search. I don’t know if what I just said made since, but that’s my thoughs.

i can’t believe i’m getting into this topic again. Ok, first off, on this board we are trying to cut back on repeated posts. More posts = more bandwidth which means the cost of having the site goes up. Not sure if you were around back when it was being shut down every month because Neil couldn’t afford to keep it up. We don’t want this happening again. Also, we want members to show some initiative. Do a search for crying out loud, it only takes a few seconds, nearly all the time you get your answer faster, and you get more info than you would have gotten if you had just posted about it. In addition to the poster getting more/better info it saves time for other people (like max and I) who have typed out replies to that same questions way too many times, and in addition to those pros it also helps our bandwidth problem.
Now, if you had said what the answer was in a definite manner, then I probably wouldn’t have posted. Yeah, its one more post that wasn’t needed, but at least you would have given the answer. But really you didn’t give the answer. Personally, if i was 1990LS I would in no way find “I think I remember someone saying, intake manfold, exhaust manfold, and cams.” to be a definite enough response for me to trust… therefore it would be almost completely worthless to me. To add to that you even used the “confused” smilie, which adds to the feeling that you really don’t know for sure the info you are giving to the poster.
I told you to do a search so that you would have the right info. Turns out you are correct (well, to a certain extent. It is currently being argued whether or not the 92+ intake manifolds are actually any better), but still it would be worth your while to do a search so you know for sure instead of it just being a hunch.
alright, sorry for ranting. I’m not upset, and i’m not trying to belittle you, and i’m not holding anything against you, i only want to get my point across. This board is VERY lenient (sp?) on this type of posting. Good for noobies, but personally i think it should be more strict. Take a visit to the Hybrid Honda message boards (http://tech.hybridgarage.com/) or The Endyne (www.theoldone.com) message boards and you’ll see how strict they run things. At hybrid honda they don’t even let new posters use all the forums, they are restricted to a new user forum and their status will only be upgraded if they behave and have legitimate helpful posts. They are even so strict to go as far as to kick you off if you don’t fill out your profile!

you could be right about that, in fact that does make sense. But still, what i’m saying holds true. We gotta start from the bottom up. If we stop people from answering those repeated questions the people will soon learn that for all those simple questions they need to do a search. So, its not immediate, something that we have to work our way up to.
or we can do nothing and keep post whoring… hell, one of the commanders is the biggest whore… just let it go man, let it go
