[i]Don’t be mad that my b16 is faster there you ls/vtec

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!
dame this nig is on “E”

i now have the B18C1 head on it.
go figure
son
AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!. This topic officially is on my last nerve. I agree with everyone that every day there is an LS/VTEC why or how, or a B16A “is it worth it” post. We do have a search function on this board…please use it. Now since I’m already posting here, I’ll put my input.
The B16A is a great alternative to your tired old original B18A. Both are good motors, just different characteristics. Lots of torque with lower rev limit, or slightly less torque with tons of top end power. I personally feel the B16A has more potential. About LS/VTEC, in order to build it right it will cost near or more than a B18C and not have the Honda reliability…so in that case I would just do the B18C. So no, I’m not a pusher of LS/VTEC or CRV/VTEC. I don’t care if they run good times or how fast they are, it’s a simple matter of time before “the ineveitable end”. 6 months is not reliability to me. Even 2 years. I expect my motor to last longer than that. So you decide. I personally say B16A or save some more money and do a B18C swap. And I’m spent… :bored:

i agree with every word you said…when i had my GSR swap…it ran much smoother…but not as much power. i kinda miss that smoothness, for everyday driving…but there are times (in the heat of race) when i just luv the LS/VTEC, and cant wish for better.
i went LS/VTEC and realized it is not all tht bad.
the B18 used to build it was rebuilt…when i bought it…and it ran 15.5. now with the head…it is a force to recond with…
what i am basically saying…is i will never, go back to a 1.6L…cant find my self waiting for the power…need it sooner on the rpm band.
later
*oh
“B16a tegra”, ok…your 1.6 is faster than my LS/VTEC.:bored: congrats :bored:
since most here has the VTEC engine
off topic, but just want to know what u guys think…
which colour would you rather?
http://www.skiflazkrew.f2s.com/teg2.html
i personally like the blue
Well both colours stand out alot… but if i had to choose between them i would say red… the blue just looks crapy IMO any way
i think both could look good in some instances. But personally i’d paint it black, gunmetal, or some type of darker pewter type silver color. Something that just isn’t flashy.
I think our cars, G2’s, weigh a little more than 2500lbs, i wish mine weighed 2500lbs. Try 2650-2700lbs.
Hmm how about a jdm b20 vs b18a and b16a?
well you c…the blue one is not finish …the spark plug cover (middle gray part) is currently being painted white…
so what do u think of it now…?
Untill i see a pic its hard to tell… but each to there own right
They are:
cheap
easy to find
come non-obd for the 90-91 guys
come obd-1 fo the 92-93 guys
high compression
the short stroke makes them hold together at high revs
respond well to boost because they flow well
upgradable with type-R OEM honda head stuff
upgradable with aftermarket stuff for R’s and GSRs
some people like working the shifter to keep it in the power
vtec sounds kind of cool
8500 rpm sounds kind of cool
I would still rather have my LS motor. But if it were to give out…

Im sorry, I really am not that impressed wiith the b16a’s, especially in our tegs. I beat a 92 Teg on the freeway and he even dropped it into fourth and pulled v-tec and i was in 5th gunning it and all I have is a Truust exhaust. So it really is driver vs driver in situations like that. Just thought this would help.
I’m from pasadena too. You want me to take you in a spin in my b16 teg? Spend a couple hundred more and see if you can get that power out of your LS:p for that amount of money. I’m a vicitm of generalizations too.
