Why to never buy Fenco axles ...

Fenco axle (reman) gave, inner cv joint literally exploded while turning left (not driving hard, just normally), and popped a 2" hole in the back of my tranny case when the broken axle hit it.

Luckily I found a tranny for $275 CDN, and swapped it in myself … but just a warning for anyone looking at this brand of axle …

On a side note, I now have a perfectly good LS gearset (4th gear grind) … I’m will be replacing 4th gear, are there any gears that would benefit from an upgrade from another B-series tranny?

Get a cable SiR tranny. Put the LS 5th gear in it, and you’ll be good to go. The SiR is a close gear ratio tranny, so you’ll be pushing good torque and power right off the line, and the 5th gear will save you the annoying 4500 and up freeway RPM

Werd … damn thing is I can have a perfectly good LS tranny when I replace the 4th gear synchro on my old one, just need a new case! AHHHH … hehe

Thanks for the input.

where do they sell these axles at?

Not sure in the US, but here in Canada it’s through Lordco (www.lordco.com). Their ARI axles have worked fine tho … although my friend at Honda has given me a new source (locally) for better axles, for the future. Sucks learning the hard way.

The problem with Fenco is they are morons. Some of their reman axles have the wrong damn CV joints on the ends … !!! Like our teg axles have ended up with EG joints on em, G1 Teg joints … brutal … f*ck Fenco! (i’m not mad, really!)
