After the tranny swap the car runs extremely rich, and it idles irratically. I swapped the ecu and the intake manifold off the manual parts car. I was wondering if the difference in the intake manifolds is causing this problem. If I am not mistaken the auto has an EGR valve and the manual intake manifold doesn’t. If anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated!
OK… dont everybod reply at once!!! Thanx for all the help!!
check for vacuum leaks…
humm i just got my swap a week ago and my car was idle was bouncing from 750 to 500 and it was annoying. i played around with the idle screw till it stoped bouncing and it was smooth. also see if during the swap u disconected the O2 sensor wire, it was coming out of the auto tranny wire harnes. What did u do with the hole in the floor?
Ok… Like you said…the first thing i thought it would be is a vacume leak… I triple and quadrouple checked the hoses and wire connectors… all in correct location. Did you change out your intake manifold? the Auto has an EGR VALVE the manual DOES NOT. Is that the problem? Also it is running really rich>… so I dont know what the problem is.
No i didn’t replace anything or take out the egr valve. you said you checked for leaks but did you try the idle screw to adjust the idle? what did you do with the side tranny mount? do you have the old one in or bought a new one? and the hole in the floor??
I have already tried adjusting the idle screw. Use the factory tranny mount, just drop it down 1 1/2". Take the entire dash and steering column out and you will see a flat spot where you will drill the hole from the inside with an 1 1/4 hole saw.
the mount i am talking about is the one next to the battery. i think u mean the back mount.
Nevermind… you cant comprehend. I know what hell im talking about. You are waisting my time.
