there is like this strange clicking sound under the dash, the sound gets faster as the RPMs get higher, the sound eventually goes away once the car warms up i think, or it just gets quieter to where i cant hear it, what could it be?
Speedometer cable is drying out. It quiets down because it’s warming up due to friction and the kink (where the noise is being made) is getting slightly lubricated. You can unhook the cable guide from the trans end and pull the cable out. Wipe all the gunk off the cable and regrease liberally but, before you stick it back in wipe off most of the residue, leaving a thin film. Why? Because the way the cables braided and the direction it turns will move any excessive grease up into the speedometer head and foul the workings.
