will 95 civic alternator fit on b20

im doing a swap this week and just need to be sure i have all my parts…but the alternator on my b20 is shot…will the alternator from my 95 civic dx fit on my jdm b20b p8r by anybodys experience…bolt pattern looks the same, but to make sure the pulleys align. and what is the ampere rating on a stock b18 alternator. civic is 75-80amp, i really need to be sure it fits, otherwise i will be screwed when i get to that point. any fast answers will help, thanks guys.

if its a D-series alt you need to modify it to fit but it can be done

you need to swap the pulleys at least, i dont remember what else needs to be done, im sure there’s a thread, if not here, on hondatech or homemadeturbo

i was going to use a d-series alt on my B16 ef hatch but decided to just buy a new one

i guess i might have to modifiy and swap the pulleys. the alternator is new, i just changed it in february…so i dont want to spend another $200 on another one. thanks for the help, hopefully everything goes well tomorrow.

I have a friend that put a D-series alternator on his LS swap. You just have to make the alternator bolts fit in the bracket holes and then measure the length of the belt you need for it and get that length belt.

cool then thanks for your input guys, really helped a lot! now i just gotta get a new battery on warranty, mine fucked out on me the other night, almost got stuck on the side of the road…damn canadian tire junk!

if the alt is new (as in purchased from a store new) then it should still be under warrenty?

i got it fit. had to grind down the bracket on the motor a bit, even got to use the original belt from the civic! it fits very well and adjusts nice and tight with room to play with. it is on warranty still but no need to change, it’s fine
