Will an ECU from a 1995 Automatic work on a 1990 Automatic?

Im having smog issues. Im in california in an Enhanced Zone with TEST ONLY SMOG. I know… how much more F*&Ked could I be…

I’m Failing NOX. My NOX is high. it is measuring 1250+. HC and CO’s are in spec and pass. Car is stock. Been in my fam since new.

I initially narrowed it to the EGR. only because EGR is made to reduce NOX. I followed a flow sheet. Im getting vacuum where I should get it. The EGR switch is working. Im getting 5 volts to the EGR switch and 1.2 volts returning.

The EGR Vacuum Solenoid Valve is working. Followed teh flow sheet to the end. Now Im down to the ECU being bad.

I tested ECU and measured the voltage from the c8 and c12 points. Im getting the specified voltage. I jumped the A8 and A18 and the engine stalled which the flow chart states is a faulty ECU. Now to my question…

I have an ECU from an Automatic 1995 Teg. It fits my wire harness for my 1990 teg but will it work properly? Does the 1995 Teg have an EGR system?

Thanks for any help on this.

i have an auto ecu from a 90 if it makes things easier

it will not work.

the 90 is OBD0
and the 95 IS OBD1 or 2

sorry.
