There is a winding noise that is comin from the back what seems passanger tire, it sounds like voooom voooom sound and gets louder at higher speeeds. You can hear it from low to high speeds when you veer left it mite get a lil louder when you veer right it disapears when u put on the breaks it gets verry quite. The rotor is warped and when you spin the wheel u hear the rotor hitting the pad is this the sound or is there a diffrent reason?
Hey - I just picked up my 2nd Teg (91 LS) and it seems to have the same problem that yours does. I just replaced the front rotors and pads, so my breaks are perfect. The loud voooming sound I experienced did not go away, however. After a little testing on some corners, my friend and I have decided it is most likely a bad wheel bearing. I’m going to have it looked at, and see what needs to be done. Hopefully this starts you in the right direction.
Its coming from the rear so im not sure. any one else?
Hey - yeah, mine is the rear driver side tire…so maybe it still is the same problem - good luck!
how do i test if its the bearing, how is the bearing replaced?
Yeah there was a member who had the same problem. with the passenger side. replaced the bearing and it went away…In fact I am having the same problem on the driver side. Loud wheel bearing and a Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust equals…WHAT DID YOU SAY…I CAN’T HEAR YOU! If you guys find this part and a good price let me know. Because the places the I have called want a LEFT NUT for it. And dealer was like almost 300 bucks.

thatd be a wheel bearing all right. turn one way its quiet, turn the other its louder. its a real easy job, i did mine with a buddy. took about an hour to do that and my short throw.
the whole hubs gotta be replaced. i cant remember how much i paid… but it was well under 100$.

Yea i got the white teg and this seems to be the problem on it, well i tested like some one said today by jacking up the car and seeing if there wus any play by pushinon on the top, there wus no play at all, and when u spin u can hear the wheel rubbing against the break a and a swooshing sound that sounds like maybe the break maybe not, im thinkin of takin the hub of my other car that i still havent sold and swaping it out.
its def your wheel bearing, i picked one up for 70 or 90 bucks im not to sure, i just changed mine out…

What is involved in changing it?
take off the afflicted wheel. remove caliper and disc., remove hub. replace hub, replace caliper and disc, replace wheel. really easy!
tell me about youre white teggy.
remove these following items
caliper and mounting bracket
rotor and the cap on the hub
you need a small flat head screw driver to press up the tab on the nut, its a 31 mm. and that should be all if you want i can get yout eh torque spec on the nut, reverse for installation. have any questions feel free to im me Stussy2180

Due serious problems wit my red 91 teg i baught my friends 90 gs he was 90whiteGS on the board the teg is in good condition except paint and some minor problems, rite now the Anti Lock Light is on that im not too concenrned about but did make a post because the ALB control unit isnt blinkin anything for codes. also the fog lights the power mirrors and the buttons for the climate control stopped working recently, he had a inline fuel pump plugged in rite above the fuse box inside the car there are three prongs, the fuel pump stopped workin and he switched prongs but the rest still dosent work. And this problem is the only other thing wrong wit it. Its a 90 gs wit 127k has a ys1 tranny wit lsd wit 30k on it, the clutchmaster stage 3 has 7k on it. IHE hi flow cat 92-93 cams and skunk 2 cam gears, msd ignition its quick but that wheel is wailing. Anyone know why there is no “play” in the wheel when i lift it off the ground, i read in some post that when the bearing goes out and u push on the wheel it should have play to it.
PS Should i use the wheel hub from the old teg or should i spring for a new shiny one?
damn dude! thats awesome…the turbo is off i assume? thats a pretty quick teg. i tried to race him once but i totally bogged and looked like an a$$.lol
id say just get a new hub. theyre really not that expensive and you know they wont fail anytime soon.
try turning some sweepers if youre still not convinced. turning one way the noise should increase, turning the other way it should go away almost completely. it sounds like tire noise.
what wheels are on the white one now. and are you in the naper/aurora area often?

THe turbo is off…im not in the know on that **** and didnt wanna worry about it. The rota slipstreams are on the front but the steelies are on the back when i have cash for 4 new tires i will have slips all around. Yea im currently in kentucky, i took the white one hear and yea when u turn it did become more/less noticable. im in the naper area often my friend lives in warrenville and his girl lives in naper, im often in the area, i go to 75th taco bell on the weekends to chill.
PS I forgot it has Koni Yellows and 1 piecese but the paint is maaco

it never had a ww lip it has a big mouth bumper
there is a teg tip on how to remove the pads and rotors… so do i basicaly just follow those instructions and then take of the huge gold nut in the middle for the hub?

and yea, its really easy and straight-forward. and yea, the big gold nut holds on the hub.
i bought honda wheel bearings for $150 each. I did one but then the other one I could hear too so I did them both for around $320. It isn’t hard to replace them.
My car had the exact same symptoms so I know thats is what is wrong. THere isn’t a way to test them to see if they are bad. The tire seems to spin just as freely with or without a bad wheel bearing.
