i have had problems with my windows before, first a broken switch, had that replaced, and worked for awhile, now the problem came back, with the new switch. now my window is stuck down, and i want it up.
could someone please help me. i wanted to know which wires would i cross to bring it back up. i want to jump it from the bare clip (without the switch, because it’s broken)
oh yeah i should of mentioned that when i was in the process of cleaning it. the metal plates were embedded a lot. so that i think might be the problem.
but like i said on my top one. i just need it up so i can have a purpose for locking my doors.
You can roll the window up and down by supplying a ground and a power to the red/blue and red/yellow wires on the drivers side switch for the drivers window, power to red/yellow and ground to the red/blue.
If it’s the pass. window it is the blue/red and the blue/white, power to the blue/white and ground to the blue/red at the pass. switch, can also be done at drivers switch, but on the drivers switch both wires are black, and they are only 2 of the 3 black wires on a 2 door and only 2 of the 6 blacks on a 4 door.:sipread: 94
this is the thing, i cleaned the plates off and nothing.
i tried that ground and power and nothing happened… could it be my motor? will the motor go out that fast, because i have been having problems with my window, so when i was out of school i played with my window before i rolled it down all the way, and then i drove for like 10 mins home, and it won’t go up. i tested my passenger and it worked.
I guess it’s possible the motor went, but I don’t think so, I would bet it may be a wire or bad connection.
Try this… remove door panel and vapor barrier and unplug the harness going into the motor, then do a continuity check on the red/blue and red/yellow wires between the motor plug and the switch plug, if the continuity is good, take a good look at the connection at the motor, make sure it is not corroded and you can try and put 12V+ and ground to the terminals on the motor, make sure that you are putting the 12V+ and ground to the right 2 terminals.94
hey fcm, you’ve been a lot of help to me, but sad to say, i was really in a rush to get my window up. it ended up raining last night. so went off and got a whole door for $60 for a whole door and put it on. i guess at the same time it was a good decision to make because my door was damaged so my selt belt was malfunctioning. and the dealership was charging 265 for the thing that sends a single to the seltbelt (sorry i forgot what it was), and that was just the part. and then i would have to get a body shop to put it in.
thanks again. but something off topic. i was wondering what is the thing that people dissconnect so their seltbelt retracts, and where is it. because when i went to the dealership to get my seltbelts replaced, they said that it was unplugged and they left it unplugged. if i could just figure out what it is, then that’ll be cool, because i could just do a search.
yeah it’s the same color, except for the interior was tan, so i have a tan lock, but i don’t really care.
i have no idea what it’s called, it’s on the end of your door, it has three screws and it holds the door when it’s closed. (i wished that i could be of more help) but i remember reading a tread about some belts not working, and a lot of people said that you should just unplug something so that it won’t retract. i think all i need is what do i plug back in to get my seat belt to retract when i open the door?
its a green plug, its on the passenger side to the right of the ecu. Its a box that says 12v seatbelt etc. i forgot, but anyways thats the plug, just plug it in
What fcm said is what happened to me.
My passenger window would not go up, so I tried jumping it at the master switch, no luck. Then I tried jumping it at the passenger switch, no luck.
Then I ran wires straight from the battery to the 2-pin connector between the pass. switch and the motor, no luck!
I thought for sure that last step would work.
So was about to go get some plastic and tape to seal up the window but I decided to try the switch one more time and it worked.
So I guess there’s something wrong between the 2-pin connector and the motor and because I moved it around it restored the connection.
So I have to take a closer look at the motor, but it looks very hard to get to.
I also checked the repair manual, but I couldn’t find any info on how to access the motor.
fcm thanks for the response.
I looked in there and the motor is in a spot where I can’t see.
I guess I need to move the window down so that the motor is close to one of the holes in the door.
Yesterday and today when the window wouldn’t move, I banged the door where I know the wires pass and it worked.
