Hi, i have a 1993 4 door with manual widnows and long story short…my glass shatterd, ive taken off my door panel (R.I.P window roll up handle thingy)
and now im kinda stumpped of what else i need to do, i took the wheel things out of some track looking thing, and ive rolled my window up and down and seen what pushes the window up and down, now ineed to know how to get to this thing in order to put the new glass on that… if someone can do me the favour of taking off their door panel and showing me what i need to do that would be a great help…or at least helpin me out here, little pictures or explanations will help.
im just surprised to see that after the door panel the widnow controlls are behind ANOTHER kinda of wall thingy and i dont know how 2 get behind this thing to get to the window mechanical stuff
im not certain that the internals are the same, but i just did this on my two-door. we removed the interior door panel. when the window is almost all the way down, if you look carefully, there should be three(?) 10mm bolts along the bottom edge of the track, where the glass sits. unbolting those allow you to take the window off. hope that helps you out.
You actually don’t get behind that ‘other wall’ because it is part of the door itself. There are holes throughout the door where you can access the mounting bolts at specific points. Line them all up and loosen them like lowntegra suggested and make sure you get all the old broken glass out. Use a shopvac to suck up the pieces that fall into your door.
Slide the new glass in and line up the mounting spots on the bottom of it with the bolts and tighten everything back up, but don’t overdo it. The bitch is going to be adjusting the window so it rolls up and down in the proper position, that may take a while. There are two (I think?? don’t own a 4door so I dunno) other bolts that you can adjust the approach angle with by tightening/loosening them.

so i just have to roll the window down untill it lines up with some holes that will allow me to accses the bolts right? and its either 4 or 3?

im trying to take the thing that goes up and down OUT of the door so i can put the new glass on it…then that thing back in the door.
ur saying, to slide the window down till i find the bolts to remove the glass…what exacltly is it that im unbolting? is it possible for u to giv me some pics??
I don’t have a 4door so I can’t help you there, but if you have a manual (chilton’s, helms, etc…) it will have diagrams that show you where the bolts are and how to get to them.

To remove the glass, just roll the windows down to where you can see bolts holding them, it’s all down hill from there. I’ll try and get some pics up today or tomorrow, since I have to remove all my glass from my old DB, so I’ll help a brotha out

got it fixed… the only thing now is broke the handle in the process. but i got some vice grips for that …for now lol thanks alot guys
