Window switch works backwards and moves very slow help!!!

I have 90 gs and the passenger window goes up when i press down and down to go up on both switches. drivers window works just fine. i checked the switches for continuity they checked out ok. The wires checked out fine too, and got voltage when and where i was supposed to. I know i can easily flip the wires on the the motor and it should work but i just wanted to know if anybody experienced this problem before and found out exactly what would cause it to happen in the first place? On top of that it moves so freakin slow that im wondering if its a grounding issue and yes ive replaced the motor already. Anybody know where the ground to both doors leads to?

Sounds like someone tried to rebuild them and put them back together backwards…if that’s even possible.

In regards to your window being slow…that just happens when the tracks have 20 year old grease in them, or lack of. My windows were slow, so I took everything out of my door, de-greased the tracks since they were covered in old really sticky grease, then re-greased everything that moves. Window works great now, I also took apart the switches and cleaned and greased the contacts. Your window motor could be going out too.

Motor was replaced and i havent put the window back in since i replaced the motor just to see if that was causing it. Ive tried everything and the only thing that seems to make it work like it should is hooking it straight up to the battery.

The two leads going to the motor are reversed.

The power window system in our cars are “Ground At Rest Polarity Reversing”, meaning both leads going to the window motor are grounds when switch is at rest, [not rocked for up or down], when the switch is rocked for up or down, the ground is “lifted” off one of the leads going to the motor and 12V+ is supplied, window moves in one direction, rock the switch the other way and the ground is “lifted” off the other lead and 12V+ is supplied, window moves in other direction.
Reverse the leads on the motor and you will be good to go.94
