Window Tint Glue

I live in central new york and the police are hella strict up here. I had 10% tint all the way around on my 4dr teggy and received a ticket. I took off the tint film so i wasn’t stuck paying the fine and now the glue won’t come off. Any ideas on how to remove this nasty unattractive residue? :read: Thanks to anybody who replies!

Soapy water in a spray bottle, and a razor blade.

thanks…ill try it 2m hope for the best

I did Windex and razor blade and it came out good as new

Goo-gone. It even has our DA on the front.

yeah first is windex for the tint removal, than use the goo gone for the sticky residue, if not u don’t have to, just keep spraying windex and keep scrapin, that goo gone didn’t help me much

the warm soapy water trick…that would take me a lifetime. I spent 20 minutes on my rear window n its not even half way off. Ill try goo-gone next :stuck_out_tongue:

I used household ammonia in a spray bottle, sprayed it on, covered in in a plastic bag and the stuff came right off with no scraping.

@ Tegfan. I noticed that too! lol

That’s weird. I did it with mine, came off easy. Different brand of tint using different glue maybe?

I’ve heard of using nail polish remover, but have never tried it myself.

well i took the tint off in november, so the glue has been just chillen there

im tellin u the easiest thing to do is.

  1. Find some shade. :werd:
  2. Dap goo gone on a towel and apply to inside and out of window 1
  3. Dap again and apply to other window inside and out.
Wipe in swirls and make sure the whole window is wet.
  4. Repeat step 2 & 3 again. Not so much goo gone this time.
  5. Take a razor blade and simply scrape(wipe) the goo gone off.
Now you have amazingly clean windows with a hint of orange in you car.
Remember to get all the stuff that falls on the seal and roll down the window a little so that you can get the top of the window as well. I love the glasshouse effect.

the ammonia is what takes the glue out…get some windex with ammonia and you’ll be fine. oh and of coarse a razor blade scraper! gl
