Ok well my wipers are fucked. here is the problem. they work when the actual wiper arm is not on, but when they are they dont do shit. The other thing wrong is that when the wiper motor is on i can see the actual motion go up and down but when turned off the wiper motor instead of having the wipers go to the down position it makes them go to the up position. What the hell is wrong with them, i have tried everything i can.??
Replace the wiper motor.
Before you do, test the leads at the motor plug, you will need a multimeter…
Black-------- ground at all times
Green/black- 12V+ when ign. switch is in run position.
Blue/yellow-- ground when wiper switch is set to high.
Blue---------- ground when wiper switch is set to low or intermittent ground when wiper switch is set to intermittent.
If all the above is correct replace the wiper motor, if not. replace the wiper switch, [combination switch].
You can also try grounding the blue/yellow and blue, [one at a time] using a jumper lead to chassis ground, if wipers work normally at the high speed, [blue/yellow] and low speed, [blue] replace the switch, if not replace the motor.
The “park” circuit is controled by the ICU, supplying a ground to the blue when wiper switch is off and cutting the ground when wipers are at their lowest point, this also depends on the switch in the wiper motor assembly, it supplies a ground to the ICU, [white/blue lead at wiper motor plug] at all times except when wipers are at their lowest point, at which time it supplies 12V+, the 12V+ to the ICU is what turns off the ground from the ICU to the blue lead, stopping the wiper motor in it’s “park” position.94
thanks for the response. Will check that out.
