Not sure if this is the right section but i just got my windshield replaced a few months ago and a cat scrached it right in my field of vision sooooo anoying is there anyway to repair this other than spending 250 on a new windshield.
A cat scratched your windshield? As in a feline? If so, then you my friend have a crappy windshield. The fact that you said a new one costs $250 backs that up. Unfortunately with windshields you get what you pay for. I went with a budget windshield back in 2000 and that thing sucked. It got pitted in 2-3yrs much much more than the original windshield when it was 10yrs old.
There are a handful of glass scratch removal options, generally it’s a paste type material that you buff the glass with. Maybe someone has some specific suggestions, but I haven’t heard it talked about much here. I’d try googling for info. There are some great forums out there for automotive detailers, those places will probably have some good info. good luck!
Whats the money range of quality windshields these days?
I would have thought $250 would already be a decent windshield.
I’ve got a $100 windshield in my Honda and Crown Vic for the past 3 years. No issues once so ever.

They’re not available anymore, but I think list price on an OEM one was $500+. And that doesn’t include labor or any of the molding pieces that may be needed.
Maybe prices have gone down in the past 5-10yrs since I had my windshield replaced but anything in the price range talked about in this thread was sub-par. I believe there are PPG, Pilkington, and APTech windshields available that may be close to OEM quality but I think they offer cheaper ones as well so you shouldn’t just trust that it’s the right one if they name drop those brands.
Sounds like I’m a LOT more picky than you guys about stuff like this so you should probably just ignore me. But if it was me I’d be doing a lot of internet searches and making a lot of phone calls to try and track down the closest thing to OEM. Or, find an actual OEM one that’s in mint condition and pull it from another car and install it in yours.
That’s a good idea actually. Will an OEM window say Honda on it?
Search Amazon for “windshield polish”.
Should give you some good reviews on products.
ok thanks the windsheild is a ppg
